K-12 Community Purchase Program (K-12 CPP) Terms and Conditions

 

Program Agreement

The K-12 Community Purchase Program (K-12 CPP) is a benefit provided by Apple Computer, Inc. (ÒAppleÓ) community and parents of students whose school participates in the Apple K-12 1 to 1 Initiative. An affiliate fee of two percent (2%) shall be made to the school based on the purchases made on the website.

 

Please review the terms and conditions listed below before you place your order.

 

By submitting your order, you certify that you have read and understand the terms and conditions of the K-12 CPP policy and your purchase will benefit a school participating in the Apple K-12 1 to 1 Initiative.

 

You must pay for products purchased through this program by credit card, money order, cashierÕs check or through the Apple Instant Loan Program. 

 

Program Offering

AppleCare Protection Plan: AppleCare Protection Plan: AppleCare Protection Plan ensures that youÕll have service and support for three full years from the date of purchase of your new Apple computer. This comprehensive plan includes telephone support, Apple-certified repairs, web-based support resources, and powerful diagnostic tools - all for one economical price.

 

Accessories: Additional hardware and software products are occasionally offered on the K-12 CPP store. These items can be added to any K-12 CPP order.

 

K-12 CPP Terms

All Products are new and come with warranty.

Products are offered WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Products may be added or deleted at any time.

THESE TERMS AND ALL OTHER INFORMATION ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME.

 

How To Order

You must place your order online via the URL in order for the school to receive the 2% affiliate fee. Product information is available online at http://www.apple.com/guide. Please note that once you click to this site, you have left your schoolÕs K-12 CPP store and will need to re-enter it from the link provided by your school when you are ready to place your order. If you cannot find the information you need online, you may contact our Apple store sales team at 1-800-MY-APPLE (692-7753). Our Apple Store Telesales team is available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

 

Order Status

You can check the status of your order online by going to your schoolÕs K-12 CPP store and clicking the ÒYour AccountÓ button to view the status of your order. For further order status information, or other assistance with an order you have already placed with the Apple Store, please contact Apple Sales Support at orders@apple.com or call 1-800-676-2775 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Central Standard Time Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. central Standard Time, Saturday and Sunday.

 

U.S. Sales Only

The Apple K-12 CPP Store sells and ships products only within the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. No shipments can be made to APO or FPO addresses, United States territories, or addresses outside the United States. You may not export any products purchased at the Apple Store.

 

Sales To End Users Only

The Apple K-12 CPP Store sells and ships products to end user customers only.

 

Return & Refund Policy

f you are not satisfied with your Apple purchase of a product, please call 1-800-676-2775 for a Return Material Authorization (RMA) request within 14 calendar days of the receipt of the product. Configure-to-order, personalized or other customized product may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances unless DOA. If the item is returned unopened in the original box, we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. The product must be returned to the Apple warehouse within 14 calendar days of the issuance of the RMA. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product. A 10% open box fee will be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory. If you purchased your order using an Apple Business Lease, you may be asked to provide a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover) for Apple to assess the 10% open box restocking fee.

 

Please note that Apple does not permit the return of or offer refunds for the following products:
  1. Product that is custom configured to your specifications
  2. Opened memory
  3. Opened software*
  4. Electronic software downloads
  5. Personalized iPods
  6. Software Up to Date Program Products (SW upgrades)
  7. Apple Gift Cards
  8. Apple Gift Packaging (origami style gift box with ribbon and greeting card)
  9. Apple Developer Connection Products (Membership and Technical Support)

*You may return software after rejecting the licensing terms, provided the software is not installed on a computer. However, software that contains a printed software license may not be returned if the seal or sticker on the software media packaging is broken.

 

Note: Apple recommends that you (1) use a carrier that offers shipment tracking for all returns and (2) either insure your package for safe return to Apple or declare the full value of the shipment so that you are completely protected if the shipment is lost or damaged in transit. If you choose not to (1) use a carrier that offers tracking and (2) insure or declare the full value of the product, you will be responsible for any loss or damage to the product during shipping. Please note that the United States Postal Service (USPS) offers limited tracking capabilities and that there is a 30-calendar-day waiting period before the USPS will initiate a trace.

 

Dead On Arrival (DOA) Product: System failure Out of the Box

An Apple-branded hardware product is considered DOA if it shows symptoms of hardware failure preventing basic operability upon its first use out of the box. If you believe that your product may be DOA please call AppleCare technical Support at 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) within thirty (30) calendar days of the invoice date/ AppleCare Technical Support will determine if the product is DOA and offer you one of the following options:

 

Replacement: The same product that you ordered will be shipped to you at AppleÕs expense. An Apple Store sales support representative will contact you within 24 hours of your call with the replacement product delivery time, and the process to return the DOA product.

 

Service: You may have the product repaired; however, once serviced the product is no longer eligible for replacement.

 

AppleCare Technical Support must deem product DOA within thirty (30) calendar days of the invoice date in order to receive a replacement unit.

 

DOA Terms and Conditions

This DOA policy only applies to Apple-branded hardware products currently offered on the Apple K-12 CPP Store. As new products are offered, Apple reserves the right to determine whether or not this policy applies.

This DOA policy does not apply to third party products, which do not bear the Apple brand name. You may call the manufacturer directly with any third party product issues.

If the product is deemed by AppleCare technical Support NOT to be DOA, AppleÕs standard product warranty will apply.

Shipping will be arranged at AppleÕs expense for all products determined by AppleCare technical support to be DOA.

 

Apple reserves the right to test returned DOA product. If a customer misrepresents the condition of the product, Apple may impose a $400 handling fee.

 

Defective Items

Apple Branded Products

If you discover what you believe is a product defect for any Apple branded product, please contact Apple Technical Support at 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273). Such a defect, if any, is covered under the terms of your productÕs warranty. Please refer to the warranty information and other supporting documentation that came with your product. (See Product warranty section below for specific information about AppleÕs product warranties.)

 

Non-Apple Branded/Third Party Products

If you discover what you believe is a product defect for any third-party product please contact the manufacturer directly for information regarding the manufacturerÕs standard warranty.

 

For Hewlett Packard printers please contact Hewlett Packard at 1-208-323-2551.

For Epson printers please contact Epson at 1-800-463-7766.

 

Note: Products sold through this web site, which do not bear the Apple branded name are serviced and supported exclusively by their manufacturers in accordance with terms and conditions packaged with the products. AppleÕs limited Warranty does not apply to products that are not Apple-branded, even if packaged or sold with Apple products.

 

Proof of Purchase

Apple will send you a confirmation of your order via email if you have included an email address with your order. If you have not included an email address, you will receive a confirmation of your order by regular mail when your order is shipped.

 

Custom Configured Product

We are pleased to offer product that is custom configured to your specifications, and encourage you to review your order carefully. Since the product is built to you specifications, the order cannot be changed, modified or canceled once your order is in production. 

 

Payment Methods 

Credit card

You may pay for your order by credit card. At the time your order is placed, Apple obtains a pre-approval from the credit card company for the amount of the order. Credit card billing occurs when your order ships.

The Apple K-12 CPP Store accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards.

 

Please Note:

We are unable to accept credit cards issued by banks outside of the United States.

Debit cards and check cards have daily spending limits that may substantially delay the processing of your order.

 

CashierÕs Check or Money Order

The Apple K-12 CPP Store accepts cahierÕs checks and money orders as valid forms of payment. Personal or business checks are not accepted. If you wish to pay by cashierÕs check or money order, create your proposal online at your SchoolÕs K12 CPP Store, then call 1-800-MY-APPLE (692-7753) and provide the Apple Store representative with your web order number to complete your order. The cashierÕs check or money order must be payable to Apple Inc., and include your web order number and/or a copy of your order. Please mail your payment to:

Apple must receive your payment within ten (10) calendar days or your order will be canceled. Please allow one (1) business day for order processing after Apple receives your payment.

 

Wire Transfer

The Apple K-12 CPP store accepts bank wire transfers as a valid form of payment. If you would like to use a wire transfer to pay for your order please follow these steps:

 

1.     Create your proposal online at your schoolÕs K-12 Store and save it. Please note the web order number.

2.     Contact the Apple Store at 1-800-MY-Apple (692-7753) and provide the Apple Store representative with your web order number to complete your order by phone.

3.     Obtain the final dollar total of your order including tax and any applicable shipping charges from the Apple Store representative.

4.     Have your bank electronically transfer the total dollar amount of your order referencing our name and web order number to:

Apple Loans

Apple offers two different ways to apply for an Apple Loan. Choose the application option which best suits your needs:

 

Apply for the Apple Instant Loan through the web (Internet)

1.     Select the items you wish to purchase through the Apple Store.

2.     Choose ÒApply for an Apple LoanÓ as the payment method to proceed to the online application.

3.     Complete the online loan application.

4.     Approval will be determined online in less than 30 seconds.

5.     If your loan is approved, select the repayment option that best fits your need.

6.     Print out and read the terms and Conditions of the loan. WeÕll provide you with your Apple Instant Loan account information along with your order receipt. YouÕll also receive your loan welcome package in the mail within five (5) business days.

7.     Complete your order.

 

 

Apply for the Apple Instant Loan by phone

1.     Create your proposal online at your schoolÕs K-12 Store and save it. Please note the web order number. Contact the Apple Store at 1-800-MY-Apple (692-7753) and provide the Apple Store representative with our web order number.

2.     The Apple Store representative will place your order and fill out the online loan application.

3.     If our loan is approved, the telesales representative will mail or fax the Apple Loan terms and conditions to you.

4.     If approved, the Apple Store telesales representative will complete your order.

5.     Apple will provide you with your Apple Instant Loan account information along with your order receipt. YouÕll also receive your loan welcome package in the mail within 5 business days.

Sales Tax

Apple Store purchases will include sales tax based on the ship-to location and the sales tax rate in effect at the time of shipping. If you phone in your order, the Apple Store representative will provide the final dollar total of your order including tax and any applicable shipping at the time you place your order. If the sales tax rate for the state in which your order is shipping changes before the product is shipped, the new tax rate in effect at the time of shipping will apply. The proof of purchase that Apple mails to you will include any applicable sales tax.

 

Shipping Options 

Apple offers three convenient shipping options.

 

Overnight Delivery: For an additional charge, we offer this expedited shipping option on most of our products. Products shipped prior to carrier cutoff, via overnight service are normally delivered by 3:00 p.m. local time one business day after shipment. Overnight delivery is not available for orders shipping to Alaska and Hawaii.

 

Two-Day Delivery: For an additional charge, we offer this expedited shipping option on most of our products. Products shipped prior to carrier cutoff, via two-day service are normally delivered by 4:30 p.m. local time two business days after shipment.

 

Ground Shipping: This option is available on all order over $50 for no additional charge. Products shipped via ground service are normally delivered two to five business days after shipment. Our ground carriers deliver most of their packages Tuesday through Friday, and some of our ground carriers deliver packages to residential addresses on Saturdays.

 

Shipping Details

The estimated shipment date on your order is based on product availability, payment processing time, and warehouse processing time and does not include transit time. Payment processing will not begin until we receive all the information we need and full payment (or full authorization, in the case of credit card, loan, and lease orders).

 

Orders placed on the weekend or on a holiday will not begin payment processing until the next business day.

 

Same Day Shipping: Orders for in-stock items eligible for same day shipping must be received before your local time of 2 p.m., pending payment processing. Orders placed on the weekend or on a holiday will not begin payment processing until the next business day. Unanticipated changes in supply can affect product availability. Please confirm the estimated shipping lead-time at the ÒReview Your OrderÓ page for the most current availability information.

 

Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Reserve holidays.

 

Some of our products are shipped from our overseas warehouse. All products shipped from overseas are shipped via FedEx three-business-day international service. Overnight shipping is not available on products shipped from overseas.

Note: Title and risk of loss to all products will pass to you on delivery.

 

Prices

The Apple K-12 CPP Store endeavors to offer you competitive prices on current Apple products and selected refurbished and clearance products. Your total order price will include the price of the product (on the day of shipment) plus any applicable sales tax and shipping charges. Apple reserves the right to change prices for products displayed at the Apple Store at any time.

 

Should Apple reduce its price on any shipped product within ten (10) calendar days of shipment, you may contact Apple Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within fourteen (14) business days of shipment.

 

Product Availability

Apple makes every effort to ship your product according to the estimated lead times provided by the Apple K-12 CPP Store at checkout. The estimated lead times are in business days (Monday through Friday) excluding Federal Reserve holidays. Lead times quoted on the checkout page are for orders that are partially shipped – meaning items ship as soon as they are available. If you have requested a complete shipment, please add 3-4 additional days for transportation and order consolidation processing.

 

Although every effort is made to ship your order according to the lead-time provided, shipping dates may change due to changes in supply. If the lead-time changes, Apple will contact you via email and provide a revised shipping estimate.

Apple endeavors to stay at the forefront of technological advancement. For this reason, Apple reserves the right to discontinue products without notice.

 

Product Warranty

All new Apple hardware products, including clearance and refurbished products, carry a one-year Limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Non-Apple-branded/third-party products are sold ÒAS-ISÓ by the Apple K-12 CPP Store, but may be accompanied by their manufacturerÕs standard warranties. ÒAS-ISÓ products are sold by Apple as is, where is, and with all faults, and without express or implied warranties from Apple. If you have questions about any manufacturersÕ warranties that accompany such products, please call 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273).

Your use of Apple-branded software is on the terms of the license in effect for the software at the time of purchase. You will be asked to agree to the terms of the applicable license at the time that you install the software. Please be aware, however, that your purchase is subject to the particular license that accompanies the software and you must agree to the terms and conditions of that license when you install the software.
