    Excellent piece of kit.

    Just the job works perfectly. You will need an HDMI cable to act as your extension cable. Note the extra connection that will let you charge the iPad as you use it to play through your TV etc. Note also that when you connect to your iPad it locks to it, (to stop accidental disconnection) when you want to detach, use the little release button at the side not really visible.Works fine with Youtube, BBC player ITV player, iTunes movies and most useful in my case Netflix movies streamed from the internet. Used with new iPad no problems at all.

    Amazing!!!

    This dongle is really fantastic.
    I used it with my iPhone 4S and my iPad2, it does everything I need.
    I think it is a new version since it only works with iOS 5.1 and it comes in a new package.
    it perfectly mirrors my devices and I can watch movies on the TV (with HD content the quality is great).
    For games is the must-have accessory. I'm looking forward for receiveing my New iPad, I'll get rid of my gaming consolle and use the new iPad when I want to play games on the TV.
    Totally worth the 39 bucks.

    Works fantastic but be aware of app support for the component.

    I bought this so I could play games and Video on my TV through my iPhone and iPad. And as I expected it works exactly how I expected it.
    I didn't even realise that there are even some apps and games that are optimised for this cable such as Real Racing HD which turns my iPad into the controller while the racing occurs on screen. Absolutely fantastic.
    My only gripe is not with the component but with certain apps, such as Sky Go, Sky Sports, Love Film and I'm sure there are others that won't work with the component at all, so it won't even mirror whats is on screen in those apps. It would have been nice to be able to watch Sky on my friends TV with Sky Go but what can you do!

    Work great on iPad-must restart.

    I was skeptical after reading negative reviews on this product using IOS 6, but knew there had to be a simple answer. You MUST restart an iPad on IOS6 before this adapter will work. After a restart, it works flawlessly, putting the home screen and everything else I tried up on the plasma TV, and porting sound to the TV's speakers. Videos fill the screen and look great.
    It is not Apple's style to ignore a problem such as this, and they didn't. It took about a minute to figure it out and restart my iPad 2. Shame on you people who just plugged it it and had a tantrum because it didn't work instantly, just returned it and wrote a disgruntled review.
    Must have never plugged in a different PC keyboard and had to restart for the computer to recognize it. Apple products spoil us with world-class ease of use!
    Thanks for a great product. My only suggestion is to spell it out on the instructions that the restart needs to happen. Less returns and bad reviews, more happy customers.

    I puchased a New iPad (iPad 3rd gen.) the week it was released. I decided a week later I needed the camera kit, digital AV adapter, and and extra charger. The digital AV adapter was posting an "not supported" message and after I dismissed the message it didn't work ( as the support page suggests). I was able to contact support after a 40min on and off call I asked if there might be a newer version ( the Apple support team member refered to my digital AV adapter as a 1st gen. model ). I went to an Apple store and they exchanged it no questions asked. Anyone in the market for this adapter should buy the one in the box not the one in the hanging bag. First its compatible with most devices, second the size of the 30 pin adapter is smaller than the previous which is good if like me you have your iPad in a Otterbox type case. Once you have the right one its smooth sailing. So get the right one.

    Just what you were hoping for but better!

    This little device works wonders with your new iPad! It will mirror just about anything you want your iPad to mirror. One of my apps even has 3-D TV viewing (which is really cool!). Many people CLAIM that this device doesn't work with iPhoto, but I am here to tell you that IT DOES! Those "foolish" people just didn't turn on the switch in the "in app" settings for iPhoto that allows TV mirroring.
    Secondly, this device is perfect for high profile presenters. With keynote and this adapter, presentations are fun and easy to do in any class setting (whether you are a "lazy" PowerPoint History teacher who makes back to back notes or a high profile top notch Engineering Presenter). Also I recommend the keynote remote app alongside keynote if your also going to get this adapter. If you are thinking of getting this product, then I say GET IT!

    Works great!

    I'm not sure why others are having so many problems. I hooked by 3rd generation Ipad to my LG tv using the HDMI cable and it worked perfectly. The screen on my ipad transferred to the entire big screen on the tv when I watched a movie. You can pull up anything. I say it's a great product. Easy to set up. Just another great apple product.

    Before dogging the product, make sure it's not something else if you have a problem.

    Works great with iPad 3 but because it is a slightly older model I get the message that iPad 'does not support this accessory'. just say ok. It works fine. I checked with tech support and they agree. no need to buy another more recent version.

    DAV cable works great

    I connected my new DAV cable from my television to an iPad 1, iPad 2, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. Hardest part was finding the TV remote to switch the HDMI connection to the right port. Successfully tested a combination of Netflix, Keynote, picture slide show and videos on each device with great success. I'll try plugging into the projectors at work tomorrow.

    Full 1080p with the New iPad

    This product is amazing I bought it yesterday and purchased the Tintin HD Movie on iTunes to watch it on my 55" HDTV and it looks amazing full 1080 pixels out, also the sound works perfect no problems with my surround system, it was so worth the 42 bucks 100 % recommend this product. :) love it.

    I followed the connection diagram on the package, and 30 seconds later i am watching the IPAD images on my HDTV via my HDM4 connection. Simple and quick!

    After reading reviews saying it does not work with iOS 6 I was convinced not to buy it but after talking to someone at an Apple Store I can indeed confirm it does work with iOS 6.0.1

    I've tested it and the video and audio work just fine (only video content however will be displayed full screen)

    Works amazingly with HD Movies and Rentals

    Bought this last night to watch a Rental from iTunes and it worked perfectly on my 55" Samsung 3D-LED TV. Also played The Avengers that I bought a digital copy of. No black bars on the sides or tops - it was perfect. A must buy if you have a 2nd or 3rd gen iPad and iPhone 4 - 4s.

    I just received this and attached my ipad3(with ios6) to my tv. It worked great! And when I started Netflix, it went to full screen and looked and sounded great. Worth the money.

    OEM AV Adapter with HDMI and Charger

    I purchased the adapter for my 2 week old iPad 3. I always plug in all devices prior to powering them up which I did connecting the iPad to my Panasonic Plasma tv. Powered the tv then the ipad and got the message that this device is not compatible with the ipad. I tried every hdmi port on my tv and still the same results. I was using the same port that my laptop connects to, knowing that the laptop always works. Against my knowledge I left both iPad and TV powered up, then unplugged the av adapter from the iPad and plugged it in again, this did the trick and I am certain that I had it plugged in the iPad with all other attemps. Hope this may help someone.

    It just works!

    I was spooked from buying this based on the bad reviews. But I took the plunge anyway as I needed to mirror my ipad for presentations. For my experience, it just works. It mirrors EVERYTHING from videos, to photos, photo streams, ALL of my apps and even audio. Remember that it uses HDMI so one cable for video+audio.

    So really, it works flawlessly.

    (I'm using iPad 3rd gen, Retina, with iOS 6.0.1)
