    A very nice keyboard

I really like this keyboard. The action is positive, it has a fantastically small footprint but remains large enough to use easily.
How about bringing out the same but with a numeric keypad as I use the numeric keypad a lot at work?

the keyboard is a great accessory to go with the MBP. i'm very happy that i purchased this with the magic mouse and the 24" monitor. Apple knows it's products, accessories, and its owners. good job, Apple.

I loved my Apple Aluminum Wired Keyboard w/ Numeric Pad and I wasn't using the num pad much and I have small desk so I decided to get this. I love it as much as my wired, don't miss the num pad. It is perfect with my Magic Mouse. The only thing is it takes time to get used to the slightly altered spacing between a compact one like this and the one with the num pad. FIY this will work with Leopard, Apple just says it only works with SL and up cause they want you to shell out another $29 for the OS upgrade.
Also Apple should make a wireless keyboard with the num pad like Pro one a few years back. Better yet, make the next iteration of keyboard with backlit keys!

Works with my iphone, I also connected to my Vizio 3d TV with internet apps.
It sure beats typing with the remote. Would have gave 5 stars if it had more keys like pgup and down.

It is definitely a must have especially if you need to do some extensive coding. The only complaint is it should have a numeric keypad like the wired has. Other than that it is perfect. I am giving it 4 out of five stars because of the for mentioned numeric keypad

This product works great especially with rechargeable batteries. The only thing I would suggest is to add the numeric keypad.

Love the Wireless, But I Want It Full Size

I definitely love how wires are no longer a problem on my desk with the new iMac. The wireless keyboard, trackpad and magic mouse have made this possible and I am enjoying the clean wireless appearance. Sitting in front of the 27 iMac the smaller wireless keyboard does appear a bit out of place.

As a programmer I find I still prefer a full size keyboard. I love the larger arrow keys, dedicated Home and End keys, numeric keypad and separate backspace and delete keys without having to combine it with a FN key press. Plus my hands are a little on the larger size so I like the wider keyboard.

I would happily pay for a new version of the wireless keyboard that comes in a full size version. I wouldn't care if it came with USB ports or not. My priorities in this case being wireless and full size.

So what do you say about making a full size version Steve? I would even give you a few extra dollars to have it engraved like my iPods. I got my credit card ready, so get Jony Ive on it.

    The Perfect Companion

I am typing with the keyboard at this moment, and I have mixed feelings about it.

-The keyboard feels perfect. Apple even counterbalanced the battery compartment so the weight would be even. The keys feel like a normal keyboard, and it is durable and sleek. This characteristic is what Apple does best.
-Music/Audio buttons. You can easily control music playback and volume on iPad, but can't choose the song...unless it's the next one.
-Eject button. This button also functions as a toggle switch for iPad's on-screen keyboard. So if you want to use the three other currency keys or undo/redo, there you have it.
-Compatibility. I haven't tested everything, but in addition to my iPad, this works perfectly with a PS3...saving you the trouble of getting a separate keyboard. Regrettably, though, it doesn't work with iPod Touch (2G). The only other problem is switching to a different device: you have to turn the first device off or move it out of range. But that's a Bluetooth technology problem.
-Portability. Yes, the numeric keypad is missing, but do you really want to haul around a keyboard 2 feet long? The size is perfect, and fits against the iPad in its Apple-made case while I carry both at my side.

    Love this little wireless keyboard!

What an amazing little product! I chose to buy this blue tooth wireless keyboard in lieu of the iPad keyboard dock for my new iPad. The quality and fit and finish of the keyboard is great! The size of the keyboard and the chick-let style keys are exactly the same as on my Unibody MacBook Pro. Typing is a dream with no discernible lag even when typing fast. It's very lightweight and looks very sturdy. Comes preloaded with AA batteries.

Set up was easy on the iPad. When you want to use the ipad keyboard again, you simply turn the wireless keyboard off.

I have a leather folio case from Sena that enables me to prop up the ipad on a desk. I set this little keyboard in front of it and start typing away.

The only downside is that the price is pretty steep (I docked it one star for price), but for me it was worth it to get a product that is quality, works well and matches the Apple industrial design aesthetic of my iPad.

I love this keyboard, totally made watching movies on my LCD television more enjoyable. I used the keyboard as a wireless remote, I mean who wouldn't want to watch a movie already saved on your laptop, but on your 40" flat screen and be able to control it from the comfort of your couch!

The keyboard in my opinion has class leading build quality and fit & finish. It has a reassuring weight and solidity to it. Functionality and ease of set up is what we've come to expect from Apple....easy peasy.

Now, for the reason why I couldn't give it the 5th star. I had originally purchased the wireless keyboard 9 months ago and fell in love with it (except the 3 battery requirement...whaaaat?!?! why 3?!?!) everything worked great, until about a week ago. One day last week a section of the keyboard stopped working, a group of the keys on the right hand side just went dead. I went straight to my neighbourhood Apple Store and made an appointment with the Genius Bar. Thankfully it was still covered under warranty, and there was no hesitation to replace it by the Genius Rep. I was so excited to realize that the new model only required 2 batteries, hear that, just 2...AMAZING!!! lol now I don't have to break a 4 pack of batteries anymore and have a loner left...Thanks Apple!

I've had the keyboard for ~3 weeks. Had to swap batteries already, and I'm at 67% on the replacements. I'm not sure if I have some sort of BT conflict, but I'll have to look into that possibility. Meanwhile- consider rechargeable batteries if you pick up this keyboard..

    Excellent product, poor documentation

No manual or other instructions received in the box. Downloaded manual from Apple for this product. Manual spoke of THREE batteries; keyboard only contained two. Thought perhaps one was stuck inside battery compartment. Finally checked on Apple store Web site where the specifications mentioned TWO batteries.

Recommend that Apple include a single sheet that indicates number of batteries and their location, the location of the power switch, and explains the puzzling behavior of the power-on light.

I purchased this keyboard in the last year - then purchased the trackpad this year - the cursor flies all over the place and despite taking it into Genius bar they couldn't see what was wrong. I now have to purchase another keyboard - hopefully it won't happen again!

I love my new Mac.(July 2011) That said, I am still learning how to do the things I used to do on my PC now on the MAC. One thing I would like to do is program the function keys. In some of the PREFERENCES you can customize the Fn keys; all of them to #19....the only problem I have now is that with the standard keyboard you only have 12 Fn keys so some of the standard ops in the PREFERENCES section are just not available to me. As with other reviewers i love the ability to type better on this keyboard than on my PC ones...if only the full size apple numeric keyboard came in a wireless version.......I'm thinking ahead now....

It is very well rounded I like it just I wish I could use a mouse for my iPad to make it more of a desktop I know it takes away from the touch screen but it makes it more hands free and let the user have a greater experience I know the only way to get a mouse on your iPad is to jail brake but I'm not stupid

Very good keyboard, the keys are responsive, the bluetooth can reach very far... farther than i expected.... but it is a little on the pricy side. I think a reasonable price for this keyboard should be around $50- $60... 70 is just too much.... it would be nice for the next wireless keyboard to have illuminated keys.... different colored backlit keys would be nice too! over all, good product.

Got this last week, replaces ugly factory wired Apple Keyboard (because of that full-size keyboard) it's making it a little hard to adopt this new almost half-size :) BUT still it isn't bad!

I wish Apple can come-up with a slightly bigger size wireless keyboard WITH magic trackpad combine. I bet that's lined-up in production as I write this review since trackpad was introduced recently ;)

iMac Wireless Keyboard - Key Size and Layout

    • Written by from Villaviciosa

I bought an iMac a week ago from a local shop in Spain. Naturally I am not yet entirely familiar with the spanish keyboard. The lack of a delete key is a disappointment and even my spanish friends couldn't help. However on this site I found the fn + backspace solution. I am accustomed to shortcut keys on my british PC and I don't anticipate much difficulty in learning Spanish shortcuts.

I was surprised that some commentators complained about difficulties in touch-typing due to the "small" size of the keys. I have been touch-typing for around 30 years and have no problems with this keyboard, except that the UK semi-colon key has moved and been replaced by the ñ - I assume that must be normal on a spanish keyboard. The keys are in fact very close to standard size. I measured with a ruler the distance from the left-hand edge of A to the right-hand edge of L; the result - 167 mm. I then measured the same span on my PC; result - 167 mm. Vertical measurements from upper edge of T to lower edge of V were 52 mm on both keyboards. Interestingly, the individual letter and number keys on the iMac are 15 mm square. On my PC these keys are 13 mm square. That suggests to me the the Apple keys are in fact larger than the PC keys!

For those who think their "big" fingers won't fit on the iMac Wireless Keyboard I'd say - use a ruler and measure the key size and layout yourself.

I do like the compact overall size, the appearance, and the feel of the keyboard. If you must have a numeric pad then this keyboard is not for you but for general use it's fine.

They sent this keyboard out with my 27" imac. It works great. But it has no number keypad. I use my computer at work, I have to have the numbers. They need to make this with a number keypad!!!!! Apple was great, I called and complained and they sent out a wired keyboard, it showed up two days later. Good job apple. I would send out a new keyboard too if someone bought a nearly $2000 computer too. I did use it for a few weeks and it used up the batteries.
