    Faulty

Bought this to convert files to get into itunes. Quicktime seems unable to load any files and include audio that every other bit of video software on my pc can handle without a problem! I note that I am supposed to pay an extra £14 for MPEG-2 support - unbelievable! This is supposed to be the best product - and the PRO product - how can it be PRO if it can't handle MPEG-2?

Do not waste your money on this purchase.

QuickTime 7 for winXP DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY

QuickTime 6.5 for Windows worked with all movies.
Quicktime 7 comes up with all sorts of bugs and when reported brings you to a site that tells you that there is no solution.

I deliver work to clients as quicktime movies and now they cannot open them as everyone has upgraded to quicktime 7.

This should have been debugged before release!!!!!!

Bought this programme to convert digital camera video into a format viewable on video ipod.It is very slow and at converting and I couldn't get the 'Import to ipod' feature to work at all. freeware called 'videora' works much quicker and more simply. Quick time pro was a waste of £20 for me.

I bought this progam thinking, now I can finnally get video on my Ipod. The problem I am having with this program is that it exports the video to slow. I have been exporting for 15 hours and I am only at 25%. Does anyone know how to speed up the prosess? I think I just waisted my $30 and I can't get a refund.

Although I praise Apple for such great things like the ipod, I have to say I was CONNED. I bought the ipod video in a hope to get my holiday videos and other videos as advertised on the homepage. However to achieve this you had to pay a further £20 to do it!!!

Quicktime doesnt even work well! Its painfully slow and does not even convert some of the files i want to ipod format!!

    AVOID THIS PRODUCT

I have purchased QuickTime Pro for YEARS just like I use to purchase REAL Time Player, Real Time Play Plus, Real Time Juke Box until I paid, paid and paid through the NOSE just about every year! I, like most of YOUR OTHER CUSTOMERS have had it! As far as I am concerned, I'm staying with a company who appreciates ONE SALE per customer and updates their Windows Media Player for FREE. Get "Microsoft's Windows Media 10" for FREE and get ALL updates FREE too! It does the VERY SAME THING as Apples and Real Times if not more, why I even have Windows Media Player on my PHONE and watch TV shows I didn't have time to watch the night before! You can't do that with Apples OR Real! I'm done forking out my hard earned money every time I turn around! Don't believe me? Poke me with a fork!

I bought this software to convert my videos that i had not downloaded from iTunes onto my iPod. I even phoned apple and they said this is what you need to convert the videos. IT ISNT. To convert a 4 minute music video takes literally hours and then often gets to about 75% complete before the whole thing fails. On the odd chance that it might finnish it goes onto the iPod fine but then plays with no sound. I have tried to put them into all sorts of formats that Quick Time offers with the same results apart from the it creates the rubbish slightly qicker. This is the first apple product that has let me down so I still think they are a fantastic company and I will contine to buy from Apple, however this is product unacceptable.

Have loads of videos from concerts been to and was bought an i-pod. As family vids taken on same phones/camera's imported to ipod, thought I'd get these precious concert vids converted. 3 hours l8r and totally cheesed off, wished I'd read all the reviews 1st warning this is not what it's labelled as! Avoid like the plague but - if tempted - READ THE OTHER REVIEWS!! Not worth 20p let alone £20!

I agree entirely with the previous review. The time taken to convert files for use is ridiculous(2 min clip takes around 30 mins)and the software crashes on longer clips.
Come on Apple, you charge a premium for your products/software-this is simply not up to the job.

No stars ,but system forces one star in order to submit review.

Why do I have to install iTunes when I only want Quick Time ?
Why does QuickTimes H264 codec not appear in the list of VideoCodecs under Windows ? (I can not use the codec this way in other programs.)
Why cant QuickTime not open uncompressed AVI Files ?
If I knew this limitations before I would not have installed it - never.

XVid to iPod Video? Super Slow

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I had a 2.5-hour home video compilation saved in XVID (video) and IMA-ADPCM (audio) format already in 320x184 resolution and weighed 722 MB. It plays in Quicktime Pro 7.0.3 fine. When I tried to export it to "iPod Video" on an AMD 2600+ PC, it took (drumroll please) 56 hours to complete. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the resulting m4v file plays fine in iTunes 6. Anyone else have this problem? Should I just wait for Nero Recode for an m4v profile? Is there any other m4v-converter out there for PC?

Very clever. Bundle the quictime and iTunes together so your PAYING customers get the shaft.

    i don't get this product

i got this product today and i really thought that it was going to be great because of all of the specifications listed on the apple.com site. The main reason that i wanted to get Quicktime 7 Pro was to put existing movies i downloaded off of limewire onto my new ipod video. On the webpage it said that it could do so but when it came time to do so it wouldn't display the movies and when it did per say "convert" them they were no where to be found. In addition, this program gives mention that it also can put movies such as DVD's into the converter to put on the ipod but DVD's won't even show in Quicktime. This was a basically dead purchase on my part. Thanx apple for a great product. I am very disappointed with the outcome of my purchase, if you are trying to convert movies to the ipod, DON'T GET THIS PRODUCT!!!

This is another case of Apple exploiting people who have paid a considerable amount for the new video i-pod. It took hours to transfer a few short clips I had taken with my digital camera and the rest of the software is useless if this is the only reason you're buying the product
