Thin, minimal design.
The lightweight, durable Smart Cover protects your iPad mini screen without covering up its durable aluminium back. So your iPad mini still looks and feels like an iPad — just with a little extra protection.
The Smart Cover is made of polyurethane and comes in six great colours. It also features a soft, colour-matched microfibre lining that helps keep your display clean.
A hinge magnetically aligns the Smart Cover with iPad mini for a perfect fit, while magnets inside help it stay put.
The Smart Cover does double duty as a keyboard stand. Fold it back to tilt iPad mini into a comfortable writing position.
Wake on open. Sleep on close.
Open the Smart Cover, and iPad mini magically wakes up. Close it, and iPad mini automatically goes to sleep.
FaceTime and film stand.
The Smart Cover folds in just the right places to become the perfect FaceTime and film-watching stand.

When folding into a stand this cover seems to be more stable that the previous models. Probably because the iPad air is shorter when in landscape orientation. Of course the wake/sleep function is very convenient.
Highly recommended for those who want to protect the screen without adding much weight. A full case would be the choice for those who are more concerned about damage due to drops. …

Nice bright red color like other Product (RED) products. Like others have mentioned, the cover seems to be more stable that the previous models when folded. Hinge magnets are very strong but the magnets for the cover when closed could be stronger (at least for mine). You can easily move the cover side to side when closed (hinge doesn't release, just some movement without much effort) which I worry could cause the screen to be unprotected if put into a bag with other things. Otherwise, works as intended. …

Don't waste your money

The magnetic strip pops off the iPad all the time, so when using it as a stand the iPad will fall over. The cover only folds 3 times and is held into the triangular shape by magnets, as long as you don't touch the iPad the stand works fine, but if you barely touch it everything falls down (which makes using the the iPad functionally impossible). I will be returning it for a different cover. If possible - I would give it zero stars. …

Awful for the price
I recently bought the ipad cover after having a generic cover (free with the ipad) and wanted the official apple case thinking it I recently bought the ipad cover after having a generic cover (free with the ipad) and wanted the official apple case thinking it would be lighter, more user friendly, easier to stand up for watching films etc. unfortunately although it looks great, it's completely useless for anything I need it to do other than protect the screen.
Unless you have a totally flat surface, the stand doesn't stand (so watching the ipad in bed, resting it on knees etc is out). In terms of holding the ipad whilst watching it, the case is only magnetised so falls off all the time. In short- it's a complete waste of money. Use your £35 to buy a good case with a stand that can work well for you in all of the ways you use your ipad & doesn't fall off all the time. …

It was almost as if they made it too big? But, surely enough, after about 2 weeks, it seemed to fit fine somehow. I've had no problems with mine after about 2 months, it is holding up great and gets a lot of use. The ability to put it into a stand is perfect for watching videos and even typing. Overall this product does exactly as expected, without any problems. …

I'm happy to report that holding the iPad mini with the cover tucked behind it is very secure. The last panel of the cover is a little free, but it's far from flapping around. The folds in the cover are sturdy enough that your hand holding the device is enough to keep them out of the way. …
