Long-time user of DR2. Liked it. Rcvd quick and helpful tech support.
Upgraded to DR3 recently and had this experience: Used DR2 to recover trashed files. After the Trash Recover process, there were a total of about 15GBs of data available to recover. I then upgraded to DR3, ran the SAME recovery of trashed files on the SAME drive and it came up with a little over 48GBs of data available to recover. That's impressive!
Tech support is prompt and the follow-up is there, as well. Michael has been excellent in customer support. Thanks, DR team!

I accidentally deleted more than 5,000.00 songs from my external drive, all of my movies and videos. Thanks to Data Rescue 3, , the software was able to save my files. But the most impressive e-mail was from the Tech Support which they contacted my after a few days to ensure that I had recover my files. very professional!!!!

I have since not only use Rescue Data 3 but Drive Genie too which has drastically improve the performance of the hard drive. I am glad and very happy of having spend the money in this two software.

Lossing my data would have been impossible to recuperate . THANK YOU PROSOFT!!!!!

Not having read the manual, I was at first confused by the different scanning techniques offered. My fault.

The restoration of the bulk of the files on my broken hard drive was achieved through cloning to a .dmg from which I was able to find all the files I needed by searching for their file extensions. Remarkable. Five years of photographs recovered for my distraught pal.

Found my files

I accidentally deleted a couple of very important files from a dying drive. The next day I ran Data Rescue 3, and after fighting to scrub through the entire drive, the software was able to reconstruct the files I emptied from the Trash.

Tech Support very responsive

Before I found the manual online I left an email question for the support staff and a few hours later I got a response. Not only was it from a human, but he actually took the time to read what I wrote (not just copy and paste some pre-written answer). I always appreciate that level of support.

Money well spent

It would have taken days to recreate what I thought I'd lost. I was always skeptical of software data recovery but I am very glad I bought this software.

I deleted all my daughters files by accident, she is in college and I was helping her delete all her junk mail. I was so upset and so was my daughter, ok there were tears and a few words. I then took her computer to the apple store, the young man helping me said he couldn't find any deleted documents. I then asked if he could please ask the manager for advice. The manager suggested Data Rescue 3 or taking it to someplace that specializes in data recovery. I didn't have the time or money to take it to someone to do it for me. So I purchased Data Rescue 3, I am not computer savvy, but with the great technical support; "Thank-you Mike!"and a fantastic program we were abel to retrieve all 139 files her midterms and her college passwords. WOW!! thanks again Data Rescue. BTW we now have her programs/files backed up in triplicate.

Had users of a of a Protools audio drive allow the drive to fill to the max, the drive crashed. Upon review of the drive two root folders were empty, indicating a loss of 3 weeks of work. Contacted tech support at Prosoft on a Friday afternoon about the use of their software. The tech worked with me after the download for 45 minutes to get the process underway. Tech support then checked back with me at the end of the day to verify that everything was ok! Think I could count on one hand the few occurrences of a support agent actually caring enough to reconnect with a customer as to whether they could be of more assistance. Plus the offer to contact over the weekend was there- Unbelievable!!
Best of all, 99.9% of the files were complete restored with the same folder structure. Made me out to be the hero during a catastrophic incident. I have now purchased both Mac and PC Data Recovery software, with complete confidence- tech support will be there if needed!!

Had a particularly gnarly incident [took about three weeks to successfully retrieve the data] and the customer service person did a great job of a) explaining the issues as they were discovered, and b) walking through the appropriate responses. Patient, knowledgeable, results-oriented. Great job.

I didn't think this kind of rescue was possible. It was a worst case scenario: In my haste to format a 2GB SD card, I accidentally clicked on my 2TB Video drive and hit "erase". BOOM. I had erased thousands of pictures and video's that WERE NOT backed up (let's not even discuss that - it happens)

To make a long story short, I bought Data Rescue 3 and hooked the erased 2 TB drive up to my laptop with a 2TB USB drive and started the program. After an almost 24 hour scan it seemed to find EVERYTHING and more. It found 3.4TBs of info. It was recreating things that hadn't been on the drive for AGES. In another day and a half, it recreated and copied everything I wanted to a new USB drive. I'm still stunned and eternally grateful that this was even possible. Thank you Prosoft. : >

I formatted an iMac and installed upgraded system software. Then realised I had missed backing up huge amounts of files of another user on the computer. Oops. Very important files to this other person. And it was all my fault :-( So I hoped for a miracle and tried Data Rescue 3. Simply, it worked. It somehow combed the formatted and re-installed hard drive and rebuilt/reconstructed thousands of docs and pictures. It took 4 hours. The 'Recover' button didn't work but Tech Support told me to simply quit and re-launch the software. It worked. I was able to recover most of the files and images. I have worked with computers since 1979 and have never never seen anything this good. Miraculous.
