    Perfect!

    • Written by from Pinehurst

I bought this as well as a case from the Apple store before being shipped my Macbook Pro for Christmas (15 inch).

This keyboard cover is truly amazing. Ultra thin, and keeps wear away from the keys themselves. This will increase the longevity and life of anyone's macbook keyboard- in my opinion it needs to come standard with every Macbook! You can't even notice it's on, and I love the added protection. I'm really funny about keeping things super clean if they're really nice (like my Macbook, for example). The thought of getting finger oils and crumbs underneath the keys makes me cringe, and I am SO GLAD I GOT THIS!

If you've got a Macbook, you need to have this!

    Good, but hard to clean

    • Written by from Hoffman Estates

I bought this protector when I ordered my 2010 MBP. Overall it's a good keyboard protector, but is very difficult to clean. I have naturally oily hands, so the protector got smudged up pretty quickly. Water alone does not remove the grease. Using a grease-cutting dishsoap like Dawn did very little to help. Since washing, the keyboard protector now has a very washed-out look, like a salted road in the winter.

    Better than any others

    • Written by from Phoenix

I have had several brands of keyboard covers and this is by far the best one I've used. It has an extremely low profile and fits like a glove. The low profile is great because on some of the other brands I have used, the cover sticks up and touches the screen. Great product!

Highly recommended.. above any silicone keyboard protector

    • Written by from NORTH HOLLYWOOD

The Moshi ClearGuard is the best keyboard protector I have ever used. I picked up a Marware Keyboard Protector from the Apple Store a few weeks ago, and just couldn't get used to it. The keys felt sticky, accumulated a lot of dust and hair, plus it was real thick and unnatural to type with. My Moshi ClearGuard arrived today in the mail, and the moment I put it on, it almost felt like there was nothing there. It has a very nice and smooth texture, plus it is considerably thinner than the Marware protector. I would strongly recommend the Moshi ClearGuard to anyone who is concerned about keeping their keyboard clean, yet isn't willing to sacrifice comfort and usability.

    Great Product

The protector is transparent. It's hardly visible and it fits the keyboard perfectly. One I should mention about is, it makes the typing a little bit noisy but it really does the job.

Can cause overheating issues on older Macbooks

    • Written by from Tallahassee

Purchased this for my daughter - she really wanted to keep her hair out from the keys of her Macbook. A few months later, her Macbook was literally overheating and the fans were very audible. Removing the protector solved the issue immediately. She only uses it now when she uses her Macbook for short periods of time, longer sessions she removes it. Apparently her roommate was suffering the same issue, and had the same protector.

Be careful, it does what it is supposed to do, but it can cause issues with your Mac.

    Wow

    • Written by from Pasadena

I am even more impressed with this product in person than I was reading the great reviews and seeing the youtube videos on it.

I miss the smooth cool touch of the silver keys and how the beveled shape cradled your fingertips. I dislike the tactile quality of the black keys, how my finger oils leave their mark, and how my fingers don't glide across the surface. Since there are huge gaps between the keys I worried about dust. All of this led me to purchase a moshi clearguard.

It fell into place so so easily. I had a narrow tool on hand for pressing it into the grooves but it was completely unnecessary. I do see what people mean about the mold being slightly too large for the function keys at the top but it is hardly noticeable and hasn't caused me any problems while typing.

Right away I loved the feel of the clearguard OVER the feel of the naked keys. There is less friction so my fingers glide easier. Do note that the clearguard turns your matt keys into semi-glossy keys. If you have an overhead light you will notice a reflection. This doesn't bother me at all since the backlit keys overpower any glare that may make reading the keys difficult.

It's true, you can barely see this thing on. I can't believe it. Wow, I love it so much. The temperature hasn't been affected at all. I am typing at my normal speed and this thing has not shifted. That's what I was really worried about. I am even lying down with my knees bent up so my keyboard is at an extreme angle and it isn't going anywhere. I am now rubbing my hands up and down and across, still not going anywhere.

I am SO happy. 6 Stars for this product.

    Works great but wears quick

    • Written by from Edmonton

I love this product! it's thin, responsive, doesnt move, and feels normal. My only dislike is that it wears through really quickly.
I use my macbook pro for about 3 hours a day and have had this cover for about 3 months. It keeps my keyboard clean but is almost warn through on a couple of the keys. I would definitely recommend it but I will be ordering a new one right away

    If only it was thinner...

    • Written by from Los Angeles

Typing with this is so frustrating. It's just too thick to type with any kind of speed. If only it as thinner. I wish I could take it back, but I threw away the packaging. ugh...

One year down still going strong.

    • Written by from OREM

Works great, I hardly know it is there. Super thin and strong. I have had this on my macbook pro for a year now, it is still in perfect condition. I use it to help protect my laptop in my ceramics studio and it works great. I would and have recommended this cover to my friends.

Works on my 13" Macbook Air, too!

    • Written by from Oklahoma City

Being a bit anal-retentive, I wanted a keyboard protector on my 13" 2011 MBA. Got the only one available at my local Apple Store, the Marware. Ugh. Thick, tacky and sticky. It also impeded my typing, lowering my accuracy rate.

The Moshi is hands and shoulders above the Marware, Moshi works well right out of the box. No sticky feeling, doesn't interfere with my typing, and it doesn't overlap over my keyboard area as much as the Marware. I can see why people prefer this.

I'll just have to remember not to bend or wring this out when I wash it.

    recommended but not really-

    • Written by from Rigaud

    Macbook Pro 15" ( late 09)
This is a great idea, hence why i bought it...But first off ill present a few problems I have witnessed and refuse to use any longer...

    1. When computer is getting hot, the plastic almost increases the amount sweat coming from your hands.

    2. Makes typing response go down slightly ( meaning i would take it off if i had to right a review such as this one)

    3. It leaves a great amount of grease from the protector on your screen after you close your laptop! Its not permanent- but still very annoying...

All in all, Recommended...BUT I barely use it, due to point #3...Me being into graphics i need my screen tip-top all the time. Coming from someone who would cry to see my computer get damaged...

Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook Pro

    • Written by from Surrey

Great for protecting keyboard from any spills or stains from dirty or greasy fingers. At first it's a little awkward to type using it, but you get use to it after a little while. Only downside is that it seems to be blocking the speaker, which isn't a major problem. It doesn't block a great amount of sound. I would prefer my keyboard being protected over the sound not coming through completely.

    Underwhelmed

    • Written by from toronto

Bought this product because i heard good reviews about it. However, after trying it out myself on my MBC Retina, I feel this product was WAY overrated. For one, I feel like it's not a perfect fit and can come off easily. As a result, I feel like I can "trip" while typing. Second, it just doesn't feel good typing on this thing. This is a personal preference of course but i disagree with those people who say they barely feel it. In fact, it is VERY noticeable. Aesthetically though it is appealing. And I don't doubt the longevity of this keyboard protector. However, it is not what I was looking for as it does not stay on well on my MBC Retina, nor does it feel comfortable.

    Buy this if nothing else!

    • Written by from Antioch

I love my Moshi Keyboard Protector. I purchased this along with my MacBook Pro and the PalmGuard Protector (from Moshi). I no longer have to worry about crumbies making it's way around the crevices of the keyboard keys. I have no problems typing with it on, plus it dampers the noise that a keyboard without it would make. It doesn't shift either ... I was worried about that happening based on other reviews made here. It's absolutely perfect!!!

    Protection, but comes off easily

    • Written by from St. Andrews

This keyboard protector fits okay. The key holes are too deep so there are bubbles over top of the individual keys from the plastic. When you press, it's a little more effort, not significant, but the bubble becomes more pronounced. If you move your finger at all whilst pressing the key the key slides. Sometimes when you life your finger up the protector will stick and come too. The arrow keys are a particular problem for me and that side is always always coming loose so I have to readjust the protector. I'll use it so I don't ruin the keyboard, but if I had a major spill on it, I wouldn't expect it to provide total protection because of the poor fit and loose edges.

    Great Cover!

    • Written by from Riner

This keyboard cover is perfect. I've never seen a thinner one that is barely noticeable like this one. The keys barely feel any different, the cover never moves by itself, and it's very easy to clean and definitely protects your keyboard in every way. I love it.

    The best in the market

    • Written by from Santa Clara

I have tried lots of keyboard covers - trust me I have tried them all. This is the only one that can last more than 5 minutes on my keyboard. Yes, you need to clean it from time to time, but you can't abuse it when you go to clean it. If you run it thru the ringer (e.g. twist it into a ball while cleaning it) you'll discolour the plastic - it's the nature of the material. Other than that, it's practically invisible and almost undetectable under your fingers.

    Good but dirty

    • Written by from Los angeles

It does protects your keyboard from dirt and looks beautiful the first 2 weeks for the back lights BUT once you washed it starts getting gray and ugly i wish it could stay the same way as the first days but at the end my mac-book pro had a bad look and the keyboard like and old computer. it was all gray i threw it away and i got a black one that one looks awesome but the bad things is that you're not able to the back-lights (just a little bit) but it looks better than with the moshi all grayed. i would probably get it again but i would never wash it again maybe just clean it with air compressed or something because the mac looks pretty with the clear keyboard protector.
