This is my fourth cable in 1 1/2 years. If you touch it 100 times, it stops working. Is there nothing consumers can do?

    Worst Apple cable ever.

Apple has always had cheap cables but this is by far the worst. I am on my third cable since I upgraded to the IPhone 5. It is ridiculous that this company can't provide a quality charging cable with their "superior" smart phones. Can't they get smarter drones to make better cables?

    Awful. Just awful

The design of this cable is absolutely awful. The cable is so fragile, that simply charging your iOS device will result in the cable end coming loose and failing within a relatively short period of time. I've gone through 4 of these cables, and I am very careful. The cable could be made far better by reinforcing the end and perhaps adding a plastic/rubber tab that would be easier to grip with thumb and index finger. This is almost as bad as my 17"MBP that won't charge under load... Very dissatisfied. Would give 0 stars if possible.

2 Cables bad in 6 mos. = defective product

I really, really wanted an iPhone. For years. Now, I want my Droid back. The latest peeve is that my 2nd lightning cable in 6 mos. has gone bad. Both cables started out ok, then would intermittently loose power and connectivity, and eventually stopped working altogether. I don't have children or pets, and the cables just sit on my desk -- I don't abuse them by carrying them around in a bag or a car. These things are not cheap, and should not be so flimsy. I would give it 0 stars if I could. No wonder Apple's stock is tanking.

I have had 3 of these chargers and after a week they stop working. Do they have warranty on these? I'm so tired of buying new ones.

I got my iPhone in November and my second cord is on it's way out. With my first cord they said the inside wire snapped at the part where it connects to my phone. Bought another one about 6 weeks ago and if I bend it the wrong way it stops working. I'm not buying another one. They should replace it when I took extra care of it and it still broke.

Short, yes, but working fine after months of use

I agree with reviewers who say the cable is pretty short. But I've had this one since I bought my phone more than 7 months ago, and it's still working great. I also bought a $3 knock-off (for the office) that broke the 2nd time I used it, but the product that came straight from Apple hasn't caused any troubles so far.

    Far too short

This cord is ridiculously short. Cannot plug in iPad and use it unless you are pretty much sittling or standing by the outlet, which makes using the iPad while it is charging almost impossible at home and completely impossible in an airport. Apple should spend a few extra pennies to make the cords longer (like the older 30 pin ones). I have no interest in adapters or extension cords. I normally trust Apple to make a good, dependable and user-friendly product. This cord situation makes Apple look cheap.

Initially had some (major) problems with unplugging the USB end from my battery charger, but I've had 6 of these OEM Apple Lighting USB cables since October and none have failed yet. Fingers crossed. Only 4 stars because overpriced, should be $5-10, especially given the fact that you need 1 in every car, 1 in every purse/computer bag, 1 in every house, a couple in your kitchen and family room, etc. We spent $200 x 2 for our iPhones and $100 on cables. Go figure.

This is probably one of the worst cables apple has made. I treat my sync cables like they are a god, and none of my past cables have ever gone bad. The lighting cable is terrible, I have been through 2 of them in the 4 months of owning my iPhone 5.

I'm not sure how most people are doing with this cable but it isn't the best.

I have had my iphone since december and have gone through 4 of these cords!!!! They are garbage, there is nothing to stop them from breaking because of the way its wired to the piece that goes into your phone, it keeps coming apart and ruining the wires!! NO ONE SHOULD GET THIS PHONE JUST BECAUSE OF THE CHARGING CORD AND HOW BAD IT IS!!!!
