Magnets attach cover to iPad. Only covers glass face not the back. Good craftsmanship. Getting cover out of the box was confusing. Costs waaaay too much. Should be in the $20 range.

    Disappointed

I bought the blue leather smart cover. Within just a half hour it's soiled. I constantly clean my hands but it's summer and we do tend to sweat. Sweat from your hands will destroy the appearance of this cover. I'm not sure how to go about cleaning this cover but I'm betting because it's leather I'm not going to be able to. I'm not looking forward to seeing this cover by the end of the week, let alone by the end of the day.

Apple needs to seriously rethink these covers or lower the price.

    Ipad 2 Smart Cover

It is an innovative screen cover with the magnets turning the Ipad on every time you open and close it. It protects the screen itself fairly well, but it provides no protection for the back of the Ipad. Thankfully you can get the Smart Cover compatible back cover. It also doesn't have strong magnet hinges so you have to be careful not to pick your Ipad up the wrong way. Overall, it is a nice case that you can get in a handful of lively colors. The only complaints over it seem to be user errors, so I would recommend this product other than the fact that it is a little pricey.

Doesn't stay attached on my 3rd gen iPad

I purchased a black leather smart cover for my iPad 2 and loved it. My wife is still using it today on the same iPad over a year later. I purchased a new one with my new 3rd gen iPad and it won't stay attached at the hinge section. The magnetic attraction seems to be much weaker and it falls off way to easy. It's caused me to drop my iPad a couple of times, thankfully only to my lap! I'm now looking for an lternative.

Smart Covers dont go well on ipad 3 generation!

I got an ipad 3 generation to replace my ipad 2. They told me that the smart covers from the ipad 2 would fit, and they do. I have 1 major issue though. They seem to not fit around the side of the new ipad well and tend to fall off easy. This is most likely due to the fact that the new ipad is slightly thicker. i still recomend this product for your new ipad 3 generation however if you want a better fitting case go with one of the incase sleeves designed for the ipad 1st generation. ipad 3 fits well.

It does what it says it does, and it works. But is it worth $79? Not really. It'd say go with the polyurethane one. But, if you have some extra money to spend, it's not bad.

This is a grate acsory to the iPad. I use it every day. But it isnt all the durable. On mine the corners have came apart and the hing part has came undone. But I still like it.

    Conceptually cool, functionally funky

I love the idea of this, the look, how it adheres to my iPad, the auto on and off, etc. But when I read the description online, I admit I just didn't grasp that it was truly only a cover. I expected a folder---a portfolio. I want something more cocoon-like for my iPad2. The biggest issue I see is that the back of the iPad2 is slippery and I am concerned I'll drop it. I'm going to shop around and see what else, if anything, is out there. I'll still keep this though.

So far so good... But there's a couple things...

I've had this for about 6 months. It's working fine.

I guess the only things about it I don't like is that it sticks to my metal music stand (and manages to make me mad somehow, rather quickly) and it seems to weigh as much as the iPad... So if I'm using the iPad I usually just remove it all together to keep my wits about me...

Unfolding it by rolling it across the screen of the iPad can cause it to slap against the screen. As much as I can tell, it doesn't damage the iPad, but makes a noise that makes me cringe a little...

    Missing a back?

I love the magnetic attachment, works really well except this product is missing some sort of protection on the back side. Wish it had a back like a book jacket.
