    Great router

    • Written by from Roswell

Works well, and easy to setup. I wish it had QoS, and maybe another port to connect to, but otherwise it's a great stable, router!

    Fantastic

I purchased this to replace a WNDR3300 that was running DD-WRT. I was hesitant at first but I needed to get more signal strength thru the house. I have an older home with a lot of lathe and plaster. The router is on the 3rd floor. With my old router large videos streaming to my apple TV 2 on the first floor buffered a lot. Now with the AE in place everything streams perfectly. Many of these videos are 720p as large as 10gb. Very happy with this purchase.

Easy to set up, works like a charm, and has excellent range. This product is awesome. A bit pricey but well worth it for the quality. I noticed an immediate improvement in downloading speed and connectivity.

    Wow! The reviews are right.

After signal strength and speed troubles with a Netgear N600 and then an integrated Arris router, I took the plunge. 10 minute setup and I'm flying. Moved my external hard drive that housed my iTunes library to the Airport, and iTunes picked it up without skipping a beat. You definitely get what you pay for in the router biz!

    highly recommended for tough locations

    • Written by from Seattle

Bought for use in an old, early 1900 four story structure - lots of plaster-lathe, concrete, brick, stone, steel, and wood, and transmits a full signal to every floor, vertically and horizontally. The dual n/g structure also minimizes issues between different machines using either at the same time.

Super easy set up, no problems at all in over a year.

    Amazing and Easy

    • Written by from Cordova

This product is amazing. The set up took less than 5 minutes. I spent more time with the wire ties and getting the cords/cables situated after set up. It is worth every single cent of the somewhat pricey retail tag. We had an old Linksys wrt54g which had been running on its last leg for quite some time. The difference in stable connectivity and speed is incredible. I expected to have to do some type of update on our work PCs with the change in network/IP. But, no issues whatsoever. It was a breeze and we now have a mini supercharged network of our own. We also can run our macbooks, ipad, appletv and iphones all at the same time with no performance issues whatsoever. I know it costs more than a Netgear or similar product but for ease of use, performance, security, etc. this one is worth the extra cash. Buy it and enjoy the wonder!

    Airport extreme base station

    • Written by from Singapore

Excellent hardware. I'm on a fibre optic plan (100mps). I linked the base station with the M1 modem which is connected to the open-net box via home plug. The signal is very good and the setup was easy. I managed to link up my iPad 2, iPhone 3 and my Mac Pro. Would recommend users to purchase the airport extreme.

    USB 3.0 support needed!

    • Written by from Tallinn

I love the Airport Extreme! Except, it's missing one key thing: Support for USB 3.0 and also having more than just one usb port on the back. Three usb ports would be great. Otherwise, its the best router I have ever used. Got to admit, it puts Linksys and Trendnet to shame.

    Airport Extreme

    • Written by from Casselberry

I purchased this Airport Extreme before Christmas and was very nervous to hook it up do to the fact I spent 7 hours trying to set up a Cisco E4200.
I set this up as an Access Point off of my existing Network. Do to I only had wireless G on the existing modem/router.
It took 15 minutes to hook up and what a great product. I don't usually write reviews but this one is in deed worthy of one.
It is so easy even being a pc user.
If you are looking for an access point or even a router this would be the one to buy!!!!!!!
Apple you did a great job on this!!!
    Thank You!

    Better video speed

    • Written by from Gadsden

Youtube videos would sometimes take a long time to load with my linksys WRT54G. They now load in a snap and so far no pause for buffering, although I've had the airport extreme only one day. The transmission speed seems about the same, maybe a gigbyte/sec faster according to speedtest.net. However, there is something making the youtube vids work faster. I thought the problem was not having adobe flash player. Not the case. This modem really makes a difference. Easy to set up. I tried a linksys 3200 and just couldn't get it to work. The WRT54G has served me well. Just needed a little better video thru put. Netflix worked fine. Just a Youtube problem. Some other web pages that were a little slow to open respond more quickly now

Unbelievably Easy to Set Up Fantastic

    • Written by from Washington

I had a Cisco E2000 before buying this router and decided to try out the new E3200 to get a bit more range in my old rowhouse that has plaster and brick walls. The E3200 was impossible to set up and I finally gave up and sent it back for a refund. In contrast all I had to do with the the Airport Extreme was to plug it in and run the air port utility. The utility copied over all my prior settings and all of my network devices were working in minutes. This is a fantastic product. Save headaches with the other routers and buy this. It is worth the price and works with all my Apple and Windows products.

Why did I wait so long to get this great peace of hardware? I've been using Netgear and Linksys for years. All $%&# compared to the Extreme. It was so simple to setup. I also bought the Express for an extended network and again smoooth! I love both products signal waaaaaay better then anything I've ever used!

    Thank you once again Apple!!

    • Written by from Santa Rosa

We've had cable internet issues for weeks, with countless calls to Comcast, two long visits from technicians and new routers we still could NOT connect our iMac, MacBook Pro, 2 -iPads, 2 -iPhones, Apple TV2 or Sony TV for longer than 2 minutes at a time..extremely frustrating to say the least. We decided to purchase the AirPort Extreme, since we love Apple we figured we couldn't go wrong with another Apple product and we were RIGHT! It took about 3 minutes to set it up using my iPhone 4S and like WiFi magic ALL our devices are connecting flawless now, our connection is lightening fast now, BONUS! Our signal strength is amazing, I can't say enough about the AirPort Extreme, thanks Apple for another amazing product!!

    Best AirPort yet

    • Written by from Simi Valley

Dissatisfied with the loading speed of my internet connection, my son, who has become quite computer savvy, suggested I get the latest AirPort; that it might be the older AirPort slowing down the speed. He mentioned the latest AirPort has two channels which would speed things up. I ordered it. Device and instructions in hand, I decided to see if I could get it up and running without him. First I made sure my computer and AirPort software were at least what the instructions said. They were. Then I used my iphone to take a picture of each page (settings) of my current AirPort setup. When I plugged in the new AirPort I got a steady yellow light. Not good. Rebooted my modem as suggested. No change. Went to the computer and worked through the software. Note: no changes will happen until you click "Apply" or whatever it says in the bottom right corner. After a few minutes I was all set, and the light on the AirPort went green. There is a noticeable increase in speed with this AirPort. I have been very happy with the purchase. Buy it.
