Reviews for Apple iPhone 4 Bumper - Orange

I love this bumper, nice and vibrant and does the job while not adding bulk to the phone.
my complaints are the same as previous reviewers. its much nicer than i expected, the two tone plastic is a nice detail.
1) too expensive, should be $19, not $29
2 )earphone hole is small, but it fits the stick headphones and shure headphones/ear monitors just fine.
3) 30 pin connector hole is specifically made for the iphone charger, 3rd party ones will have trouble or wont connect.

solutions:

if the earphone hole is too small, create a bigger hole by using an exacto knife.

i shaved down and cut out some of plastic surrounding the 30-pin connector hole and also shaved and cut some of the plastic housing on my 3rd party charger - used an exacto knife and sand paper - they both fit now and i did so with out taking away from or ruining the case.

The bumper has become my favourite iPhone case, mainly because it protects the metal sides and prevents the front or back of the phone from touching a surface and getting scratched.

I have had the orange bumper for a few months now and the only disappointment is that the edges of the bumper discolour and get brownish very quickly, especially if you keep your phone in your jean pocket. As a result, my orange bumper has turned a very dark orange. I have tried cleaning with no result.

I recently purchased a blue bumper for a change because I still love this case.

The bumper does its job well and I haven't had a single problem with it falling off or getting in the way.

... But, and it's probably just a vanity thing, I really don't like the discoloration brought about by everyday use. I've only had it for a month and the color variation between the hard plastic and the rubber is quite drastic (I've even considered buying another case). It's not like I drop it all the time or roll it around in the dirt, it just seems to have gotten dirty somehow. No amount of scrubbing or cleaning has managed to get it clean, either.

Overall it's a great case and it lets you show off your iPhone, too. The discoloration is just annoying...

I got the bumper because I don't like big bulky iPhone cases, they take away from the beautiful design of the iPhone.

I like being able to set the phone down and not have to worry about the glass touching whatever I am setting it on.

Pros: Better call reception and look. Better reception and over all feel of the phone.
I love it.

Cons: The only issue was that, I didn't move the bumper in fear of the reviews of scratching the metal casing of my phone, low and behold, it isn't scratched but it has a weird moldy looking rub mark all over it.

Other than that, I love it.

Pros: protective, it has prevented the phone from taking any damage due to drops.

Cons: the soft silicone fades into a pale grayish orange while the hard plastic remains nice and bright.

5 stars for functionality, 1 star for aesthetics.

After reading the online reviews, I was somewhat nervous about buying the iPhone bumper, but I took the plunge anyway. It fit my CDMA iPhone 4 perfectly, and the protection it provides is wonderful, without adding much bulk.

Some users have reported that the antenna is scratched by the bumper...
This is caused by sand/grit caught underneath the bumper.

Also, some people think this product is overpriced. It is NOT. Most cases run $35-$80, while the bumper is only $30.

I bought the Orange bumper for my phone when I bought it in 4 months ago and after 3 weeks, it was beginning to look dirty and I too was noticing that it was scratching up the stainless steel sides of my iphone. Also, the headphone jack and the data/charging port are only compatible with an Apple cable or Apple headphones which requires you to take the case off an awful lot which isn't preferred but taking it off also began to wear down the case overall...it lost its tension on the phone and the rubber began to peel away from the plastic.

Overall, very disappointed with this considering that I purchased it as an Apple product for $30...I would highly recommend spending less and getting a better case from InCase or such as this product is faulty. I now have a clear hard case from InCase that I am very happy with. Don't make the same mistake and waste money like I did...

I bought 2 of these, one for my wife and 1 for myself. It protects the phone from drops while still showing off our iPhones. Use to keep them in big bulky cases then realized we didn't need to as the iPhone 4 can stand up to a lot. Go get one you won't be disappointed!

I have bought 3 of these bumpers since the first iphone 4 came out; green, orange, and black. Unless you are buying black, don't do it. The lighter colors get dirty and there's absolutely no way to clean them. I have tried scrubbing them until my fingers go numb and they just don't come clean. I don't know what kind of rubber they use for these but they need to change it. I gave it 3 stars because it does do the job!

I love this color and the styel i droped my phone and not a scratch love it keep up the grate work!!!
