I purchased this monitor after having had many bad experiences with other name brand monitors throughout my life. The other monitors were like toys in comparison. There is an overall professional quality in both build and design.

It's quality, ease of use, and attractive design, makes this monitor perfect for my needs. Over the long term (and the fact that I can, when finished, trade it in, and take it's proceeds towards the purchase of a newer model) I believe this is the best monitor for my overall needs.

I am a Fine Artist doing prints of my large paintings and this display is amazing!
I don't understand all the negative comments regarding the glossy screen,the colors are rich and clear and my prints match the screen.I have no problem with glare or reflection.
This is truly an awesome monitor with the added bonus some great sounding speakers

I absolutely love my Apple LED Cinema Display 27". Don't believe these myths that the ACD27" works only on Macs, or that you need a Mac to control brightness controls from 0 to 100%. I have a PC with an eVGA GeForce GTX 260. The ACD27" is connected to my GTX 260 with the Atlona AT-DP400. There is no lag or image degradation from the Atlona.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with Boot Camp 3.1 installed, along with Apple's 27" Display Update. The speakers, microphone, iSight camera, ambient light sensor, USB ports, and brightness controls work flawlessly. Driver level 1:1 pixel mapping even works through my nVidia card. With a pixel pitch of .233, text is razor sharp. Images look vivid and really pop with the glossy finish! The glossy panel could be a problem if you want to use this in a bright environment, but with proper lighting conditions glare is a non-issue. This is hands down the best PC monitor I have ever used. It has a much cleaner image than any other LG IPS display on the market, all of which have an aggressive anti-glare coating which creates a "sparkle" effect. Thank you, Steve Jobs, for bringing a glossy solution to IPS buyers!

Just bought this today after having used a 20" Apple Cinema Display for the last three years and boy what a great display. Love the ambient light sensor and the brightness and clarity of the large space. Overall I am very happy with it.

it depends what you define as a 'new' mac. my macpro is 'only' 1 year old but this screen will not connect with it. i have just received and i am now sending it back having had my time wasted. you can buy DVI to mini adaptors for around £130 but how ridiculous to have to. unless you buy a brand new macpro, you can only connect this monitor to laptops,

I don't get it, I really don't. In a world of Airplay, Wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 why in the heck do I *need* to plug this friggin thing into a computer? Sure the sound is good. Yeah the pictures great. HD FaceTime... I'm tickled pink. But come on Apple don't stifle your own products. Allow us to throw our slideshow up on the monitor wirelessly. Allow the speakers to be used in conjunction with iTunes and airplay from any device. iOS included. Throw us a 21st Century bone here. Bob Mansfield. I'm looking at you. Lets do something about this guys. It could be killer. Instead its dead on arrival.

If the glare disappointments you, turn your lights down for crying out loud. There ARE numerous ways around that ya know? This is an awesome display, a lot cheaper that the 30" and much bigger and nicer that the 24". This is even cheaper than other brands with the same resolution. Try getting the level of Apples service behind any other brand and you will be disappointed.

The clarity and brightness of the picture, and simplicity in setting it up, makes this monitor the best i've ever owned.

Amazing colors and clarity! Love the glossy finish, makes blacks seem much more realistic. This is literally the most Amazing display I've ever seen. Not a single regret!

Wow there are a lot of whiners on this one. This screen is great in every aspect, including its glossy screen. I am impressed mainly at the pricing of this screen, as there is not currently much competition in the class/price range.

Suggesting that a matte screen should be standard is like suggesting ferraris come with wheelchair lifts. (BECAUSE WHAT IF I NEED A WHEELCHAIR). Maybe this is just me, but if youre doing "pro" video editing--and especially color correction--why would you have lights and windows open anyway. Go to best buy and get a 23" LED monitor for 1/4 the price and a matte screen.
