    Good quality, Very specific

Purchased this backpack a few weeks ago and had to return it. Had it as a commuter with my 15 inch macbook pro. The grid is extremely useful to hold your items. The bag gets extremely heavy and bothersome on your back because everything is confined to one area. The grid part again is useful, but you always have to unzip that pocket entirely to get something thats on the bottom. Cool bag if your not going far and dont need to bring to much with you. If you are an audio engineer like myself or a video person this may not be the bag for you. I like to have one bag for all of my items to consolidate things. Check it out in the store before you purchase.

It is a great backpack but...

This is by far one of the best backpacks that I have purchased but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. I keep my 15" Macbook Pro with Retina display in this bag and it secures it perfectly fine. The Grid-It section helps me keep all my accessories organized. I don't use this bag everyday and I only wear it to and from my Apt. to my car and my car to a designated area. With such little use after 6 months of owning the bag the seams are already ripping off on it. I'm not rough with this bag and I don't use it everyday yet the seams on the straps are already coming off. I'm debating whether or not I want to purchase a new Cocoon bag or look elsewhere for a solution.

    Cool yes - Durable no

As others have said it is well designed and great to pack a bunch of gear. I could pack my gps training gear, tech toys and chargers in a slim organized manner.

However, something that uses the word ballistic in it's description should not fall apart so quickly. The shell stayed together, but not much else. Interior lining split within two months and 11 months in a zipper fell off. Waterproof covers are falling apart and seams are not durable. I now know why this would never be carried at LL Bean. They would have almost as many returns as sales. I use it a lot, but a backpack should not fall apart in a year. No rainproof jacket I've owned fell apart this quickly after getting beat up in the granite mountains of the North East and this just rode in my car and a couple of plane trips.

Still gave it three stars because it is the best organizing backpack with a slim profile that I've seen. Holds a laptop, iPad and a couple small file folders with all the gear strapped in.
