Great keyboard but need a better tilt angle

    • Written by from Cary

Excellent quality and the battery lasts a lot. It is very slim and stylish also.
However the mini-iPad rests in a more vertical position rather than tilted which makes lost brightness of the keyboard as you are looking kind of from above.

I would recommend Logitech to improve the view angle in future upgrades.

Bad viewing angle with iPad Mini with Retina

    • Written by from Georgetown

I just purchased this keyboard for use with my iPad mini with Retina. I love the keyboard, but unfortunately the viewing angle with the retina is not good. The iPad almost sits vertically in the keyboard and it is very difficult to see. If the iPad was tilted back even by a few degrees, it would be perfect. Sadly having to return the keyboard.

Too slippery - don't buy it

    • Written by from S. Pierre Du Bois

If you actually want a keyboard that can sit on your lap at meetings etc. to type notes or for any other reason then do NOT buy this one. The back is so slippery it is totally useless. The only way you can use it safely is on a table which defeats the object as far as I am concerned

Used it for five minutes, will be returning

    • Written by from St. John

I wanted to like it, really. It's so pretty and seems well made. But I haven't even turned the thing on and I already know it was not well thought out.

First, it is NOT compatible with the Speck case (that covers the back of the iPad), so if the Apple employee told you that it would be, they were wrong. The magnetic strip is about a centimeter too long. The Speck case also interferes with viewing angle.

Second, the magnetic strip is WAY too weak to be considered a "case". I pick the thing up by the iPad or the keyboard and it falls apart. There is no latch on the other side to provide support either. Think you're going to just "toss" this in your bag and have a whole iPad when you take it out in an hour? Think again.

TLDR; Want to have a keyboard but maintain the back of your iPad from being scratched? GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Not a good angle for viewing or typing

    • Written by from Eatonville

I was "encouraged" to get this when I bought the IPad because I wanted a keyboard. Didn't try it much at first.... later realized that it is NOT the correct angle and there is no choice. I need to also use IPad at the lower angle for reading.... but no way to do this while using this keyboard -case.... without having a separate case/cover with me too! The angle for typing isn't right for me either. Very inconvenient.... I definitely wish it wasn't too late to return (assume it is but I will try) and I am going to check Ebay to find a keyboard-case combination that will accomplish both purposes.

    It's good but not perfect

    • Written by from Bellevue

I just bought this keyboard today and I was super excited to use it and so far it's been pretty great. I'm getting used to the feel of the keyboard and the placement of some of the keys. Since Logitech tried to fit every possible thing that the MacBook keyboard has onto this Bluetooth keyboard, somethings are a little cramped. I noticed that it's great for typing and going online as you would just type into the address bar as you would normally and press enter when ready to launch the page. But when using iMessage and finished typing a message, I am accustomed to pressing enter/return to send. This keyboard does not have that capability. Another wonky thing I learned was that the charging cable for the keyboard does not come with a wall-to-USB charger. But I tried plugging the cable into the iPad's charger thing and it works just fine.

It does have some cool functions, like a home button on the top left which will bring you back to the iPad's home page without having to press the actual button on the iPad itself. It's great to have a keyboard that could work as a iPad mini cover but the magnet is not too strong. I am considering buying a case/bag to hold these two since I don't think the keyboard acting as a cover is enough protection

    I love it!

    • Written by from East York

Well, I think it's perfect. Surprisingly easy to type on given how small it is. Pretty slick the way it complements the iPad mini. It is the "other half" as Logitech says.

It doesn't say in the specs, but there are magnets in the slot/groove for standing up the iPad mini when using the keyboard, so you don't necessarily need to be on a level surface. Works equally well with the iPad mini in portrait orientation.

The problem with this keyboard is that it does not protect. The concept is great and the idea is right on point, however it does not protect the keyboard itself and definitely not the iPad.
It's magnetic and yes it latches on easily but on the first try, my iPad was dropped by one of the doctors I work for because it basically flipped itself out in a backwards motion. If they found a way to lock the iPad onto the keyboard, it would be perfect.

It is by far the nicest keyboard I have ever used. Not only that, but the box it comes packaged in is so durable, you could actually use THAT box as additional protection for the iPad mini as well.

I've never been disappointed by the Logitech brand and this keyboard is absolutely on par (above par, actually) with that. Great quality, an almost luxurious feel to it. Exactly as it looks here on screen in the Apple Store. Super thin (you can actually put this keyboard on your iPad mini AND buy a case and it WILL all fit perfectly and safely within!), and durable.

My favorite thing though is the size of they keys themselves. My husband is almost 7 feet tall and proportioned thus. He uses it instead of his desktop now, instead of his iPhone now...in fact...HEY!!!...I rarely have it myself these days...XD

    Definite approval

    • Written by from Crawfordsville

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to express how good I think this product is. I saw a friend using the version for the iPad and I decided to try it for the Mini to try and make it more like a laptop. I thought I was going to have to adjust to typing since it's small, but the keys are very well laid out and I typing on it was rather natural. My only complaints are that the right pinky keys are a little cramped, though very manageable, and it doesn't tilt very far back. I'll have to find a solution for protecting the back of the Mini, but that shouldn't be a big issue. Overall I'm very pleased with this product.

    keyboard needs to be thinner!

    • Written by from SACRAMENTO

This keyboard is very thick and has a battery. This keyboard needs to be paper thin like the microsoft surface keyboard. Apple could build a power connect directly into their ipad similar to the surface. How than would the ipad stand up if the keyboard was thinner. I'm not sure...I'll leave that design approach to apple.

    Returned mine

    • Written by from Highlands Ranch

It was a decent keyboard, particularly for the size. Never had a problem connecting, lasted a good bit of time.

Unfortunately it's a miserable case. It attaches to the iPad on one side, but doesn't lock shut when closed on the other, so it will swing away from the iPad if you drop it. Thus, it's not much of a protective case. Also, the magnet on the side that does attach is weak vs. the weight of the keyboard. I returned mine after the iPad slid right off the keyboard and fell to the ground.

It's a keyboard and it will provide some protection if you physically hold it shut. It's no replacement for a case.

Not a Lightning dock connector for charging

    • Written by from Calgary

I'd have given this thing at least a 4 star review if not for the charging port being something other than a Lightning connector. This is a new (to me) charge port, requiring its very own cable. Obviously I'm traveling with my Lightning-to-USB cable (if not that plus the AC adapter).

I know it would have cost Logitech more money to use such an interface. If they do so in future I'll sell this (otherwise fine) keyboard and put the money towards that one. Maybe they can keep the price low by not needing to include a cable with the keyboard.

    A must have.

    • Written by from New Ulm

This keyboard/cover/stand is great! The keyboard functions well. There is a slight learning curve as your hands adjust to the size of the keyboard--the A key in particular takes some getting used to as it is big and thus seems like it ought to be the Cap Locks key and your left hand should be over more to the right. Other than that the keyboard is great.
The smart cover works like it should and protects the front of your iPad. The back of your tablet IS exposed.
I like how the Mini fits into the keyboard. The angle is great for viewing, and my family often uses the keyboard as a stand for the tablet.

    brilliant keyboard!

    • Written by from boone

This keyboard is perfect- it is very small, yet easy to type on, and adds very very little bulk or weight to the Mini. I had resisted getting a keyboard due to not wanting to add bulk or weight, and kept thinking I could get by with on-screen typing. Finally got tired of how long it took me to type anything, and decided to try this out. It has a very nice feel - the keys are clicky enough to seem quite serious, and it is substantial while still being very light. I was a little afraid it would be easy to drop the iPad with the cover shut - I was used to my Smartcover which has a little grip to it -- but that hasn't been a problem. It shuts tightly and the iPad stays firmly in place while in use. I highly recommend it.

I like the keyboard. It is a nice size and super easy to use. I also like to use it to support my ipad mini. What I don't like is the case part. There are magnets that are used to hold the keyboard onto the iPad. Am I returning it? No I plan to keep it because it is a VERY nice keyboard but I plan to buy a case to hold everything in it. Trust me if you depend on this alone as being the case I can guarantee you that you will drop it and break the screen.
