Have had this on my phone now since I purchased the Iphone 5 (October). So far, it has held up better than most other films I have had on my previous phones. Definitely superior quality than other screen protectors out there. I would highly recommend this product to other Iphone 5 users. Does not compromise the retina display.

    Better than older anti-glare protectors

Back when I got my 4S, I tried one of Power Support's anti-glare protectors and was rather put off by how much the matte texture caused a strange magnification of certain pixels. I've heard one reviewer call it a "screen-door effect". You can get the idea by putting some small droplets of water on your screen (or any pixelated screen, actually). In short, it really detracted from the crispness of the Retina display.

Since then, I've been a die-hard of Power Support's "Crystal" screen protectors as they have given me fewer bubbles. Unfortunately, the Apple Store doesn't sell the Crystal for the iPhone 5; you have to choose between the Belkin Iris or the Power Support HD. I chose the Belkin on a whim.

The Iris comes as a bit of a multi-media experience. The package unfolds to reveal three panels with pouches, holding 1) the screen prep, 2) the protectors, and 3) the bubble-squeegie, with the steps clearly printed on the panels.

Overall, installation was easy. I had very few bubble/dust issues and, I'm please to find that the anti-glare finish is noticeably more Retina-friendly. It's still not as good as a crystal one, but it's better than the older 4/4S ones were.

    Best anti-glare i've used

for those who say it creates bubbles, thats solely the user's error and not a fault on the product itself. if theres any dust on the screen the air bubbles aren't going away... remove the dust before u apply the screen protector and it'll look perfect.

Most anti-glares add a grainy look to the screen, but the Iris Anti-Glare Film is by far the best protector that limits the effect. Cut outs are spot on and the extra space next to the earpiece and camera are for the light and proximity sensors.

    Very clear but very difficult

This is the clearest anti-glare screen protector that I have ever used. But it comes with a price, it is very difficult to put on without dust or lint getting underneath. I used a piece of scotch tape to lift up the screen protector and then use another piece of tape to get the dust off. It took a while but I eventually got it bubble free.

Used for my iPod touch (5th gen.)

The Apple store did not carry a screen protector specifically for the iPod touch (5th gen.). I didn't feel like waiting for Amazon so I used this one because the screen dimensions are the same. The screen protector looks great! There are no bubbles and it leaves a nice matte finish. Use the scotch tape trick to get the protector on just right and you'll be pleased. The only issue with using this for my iPod touch is the camera is covered by the screen protector. No issues with taking pictures though so I can't complain.

I just got one and maybe these have been fixed. There are absolutely are holes for the earpiece, the camera, and the home button this time.

I was upset that the Apple Store doesn't carry the Power Support Anti-glare films anymore. But when I tried these, it actually suited to my taste a bit more.

The glare reduction isn't as good as the Power Support. But this Belkin Iris film actually keeps the screen sharp and not as fuzzy as the Power Support. I like the tradeoff. Highly Recommended.

    Very good protective screen film

Installed it in two minutes following the instructions and had absolutely no bubbles. Excellent screen clarity, unlike with competitive products. Very easy to clean, too.

Seriously, I don't understand the negative reviews. I think Belkin did a great job with this piece of gear.

Overall, I am a happy camper; money well spend.

Lasted a week before a corner peeled off and lost adhesive forever rendering it useless. I use my phone inside another case and rarely take it out. Cheap product, will not buy this brand again.

Sad that the Apple store didn't carry the old Power Support one for the iPhone 5 but this Belkin one was easy to install. The cut outs line up perfectly. There are two tabs, labeled 1 and 2. When you're done installing, make sure you peel off the surface protecting layer of 2, not just the tab to reveal the anti glare surface. If you only pull off the tab and not the layer it is attached to, it will leave the screen protector glossy and that protective layer scratches really easily.

    Great film, fiddly to install

I too had problems removing all the dust & bubbles. Trick is to use the cloth to remove dust from the glass, and the sticky Dust Removal Sheet to remove the dust from the underside of the film. The film itself is brilliant.

    I want to return this

I asked the guy in the store if he could help me with lens cleaner, because I suspected I was going to have trouble. And I remembered someone telling me in the past that if the store person does it for you, then if it messes up they'll give you a new film. But this guy just said "There's a cloth in the package." So I took it home and tried installing it and couldn't line it up and got dust under it somehow. So I gave up on that one and tried the second film. Figured it out a bit better, but now part of it won't stick on the outer edges. So I want to go back to the store and demand another film and have them put it back on. This thing was $15 plus tax, so I feel I deserve a product that does what it should.

    didn't like the alignment

the film goes over the front mic and camera lens. i do not like this feature and will be returning the product. however, i give it three stars for package design and the clear steps to apply the film. it comes with a cloth, dust removing film (which is only the size of the screen and not the size of the entire front face plate, which is silly!), the film itself, and a paper card to smooth out any bubbles.

Good product and feels smooth to the touch

    • Written by from Modesto

The great thing about this product is that it comes with the kit to put on the film, which is really easy. The only thing I would watch out for is, "haste makes waste." I believe every film protector can relate to this, so saying this the kit makes it readily available to clean, and to put on the phone. I love the texture of the film as my fingers don't get stuck on it, they slide smoothly over the film (not all screen protectors are like that).

MOST IMPORTANT- take your time cleaning the phone and putting the protector on. I used tape to lift the edges, and more tape to kind of get those little dots of dirt off the areas that produce bubbles (or the ones that dont move) and the card to push the bubbles to the edges. I don't have any bubbles on my screen and it looks like I never even put on a screen protector :). Great price for two!

    Sticker gunk is terrible

When installing there are two numbered stickers on the film. Once installed you have to remove one of them. It leave a thick sticky residue that doesn't come off. The film looks great on the phone / no bubbles, but the glue residue is a royal pain. There is no way to get it off. There is $7 down the drain. Now to try the other one in the box.

    As anti-glare as a mirror

    • Written by from Louisville

4 of 10 people found this useful

If you simply want a clear protection film, go ahead and purchase this as it DOES work as a protective layer ONLY, but if you're looking for an anti-glare film, look elsewhere.

Simply put, this film has all the anti-glare properties of a mirror. Everything, and I mean everything is reflected back as if the film weren't even there.

I'm disappointed enough that just minutes after applying it I'm ordering another Power Support anti-glare film and seeking a refund for this, as it's clearly doing close to nothing when it comes to glare.

Bought on-line, Tried the first film, was very careful to make sure screen was clean, followed the instructions to the letter, and film peeled right off without any resistance. Appeared it had no adhesive on side one. Tried the second film with the same results, there is nothing to make it stick to the phone besides static. Very disappointed.

Was ready to install when I noticed scratches on the film, grabbed the other film, same thing same spots. Installed anyways, and the bubble card scratched the film even worse!! I should have known better since I've never liked anything that came from Belkin.
