I found the setup clumsy. I finally got it working (it printed OK), but when I went to print from my computer the next day, it would not print (said the printer was off-line). Since this is 80% of the device usage, this is most annoying. I went through the setup again, but it still doesn't print.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

    • Written by from hilliard

    1) It works. No problem setting it up. Easy to use. Still learning all the little tricks but for the money I'm satisfied. (As for the money - I bought mine in an Apple Store. One week later I saw it in Staples for about $45 less during a sale. Look around)
    2) It's a bit slow and a bit noisy. Print quality is OK but not high end great. Paper capacity is a bit limited. Again, overall I'm happy but it's not top of the line.
    3) IT EATS ink cartridges. I don't print a ton of stuff but my black is almost down to half after one week. I printed one photo and it chewed up about 10% of the colored cartridges. This is NOT for someone who prints a lot of photos or uses a ton of graphics.

Okay after problems with software installation

    • Written by from Plainfield

The printer seems to work fine and do what it's supposed to do, but I had problems with the software installation. The first time I tried installing the software from the CD supplied with the printer, and it hung at 51% complete. I rebooted the computer and tried again with the CD, and it hung at 0% complete. I then downloaded the software from the Epson website and it installed successfully. I wasted a lot of time trying to get the software to install. I'd give the printer 5 stars and the software 1 star for an average total rating of 3 stars.

    Slow but efficient

    • Written by from AUBURN

I purchased this printer in Jan 2013. The only thing that I absolutely hate about it is that it is SLOW! Other than that it is a great printer. I am going to upgrade in a couple of months. I hope the newer printers aren't as slow. I hate being limited on my selection of printers. I had a brand new printer that was perfect for my other system (non Apple product) until I purchased my new and first MAC...in which I will never get rid of because I absolutely LOVE it......back to the printer, otherwise the cost was great, replacing the ink is affordable, and it prints well!

Love this, but ink runs out too fast

    • Written by from Baton Rouge

I absolutely love my nice, compact all in one printer. I love that it doesn't take up so much room, and it arrived on time. My one downfall and it really almost wants to make me purchase a whole new printer is that the ink runs out so quickly. I run my own business from home so I need to constantly be printing and copying on thick professional paper. Therefore my ink literally runs out at one point within 20 minutes of printing bright pink documents. I'll just have to take my documents that need multiple copies to a printing service such as Office Depot or kinkos. I can't spend 1000's of dollars on ink every month!

So far so good - BUT had to call Apple and it took a lot of time. The instructions in the Epsom install instructions are incorrect for the iOS, it says the file is not available for this operating system. So once you get the printer up and load the paper/ink, skip step 7 where you download the printer drivers, and go straight to wifi, set that up, and then you should be able to print (square with an up arrow on the ipad page) immediately. Epsom really needs to update their documentation.

    good and bad

    • Written by from LOS OSOS

The bad part about this printer is that it is a major pain to set up to use all the features. By this I don't mean plugging in the cables. I mean getting it to work using the EpsonConnect service.

The software CD that comes with the printer includes the 'basic' software you need to use the printer with your computer, but for some strange reason does NOT include the software needed to use EpsonConnect. You have to go to the Epson website and download that. I'm sorry, but to me, that's a bit stupid.
However, once I did get the printer set up, I discovered some of the very cool features it has; one of which is what is called 'scan to cloud'. This is a very cool feature with the exception that it does NOT support Apple's iCloud. I really hope they remedy this very soon.

All things considered though, this is a very cool printer, I like the expanded wifi features such as iPrint and AirPrint. But I think the scan to cloud feature is the one thing I'll use the most. It is a good printer for the price.
