Keep getting error when trying to print test page during set up

    • Written by from Overland Park

Set up was going fine until the final step of printing a test page. When I click to "print test page" the process starts, says that it is "printing," but then as the paper starts to feed, it stops (not jammed, just stops) and I get a "printing error "message (not explaining the error, which is not helpful) telling me that I need to turn off the printer and turn it on again. Have done that 10 times, and same thing. The copy function works fine, so the paper will roll through, just not when I print from computer. Can't find anything helpful in troubleshooting materials.

So, having spent an hour trying to print a test page and still being without a functional printer, I must give this product, at least for the moment, the lowest grade because it has just been a source of frustration. Will give customer support a chance when the phone lines open up. if that does not work, will return it tomorrow.

    Good when working

    • Written by from Durango

I like this printer. It does all you'll need for a home printer. Display screen and instructions for set up of printer, wi-fi is simple and easy to follow.
The only issue I had is the printer died and would not print readable text after 5 months of low to moderate use. But troubleshooting on the phone w/Epson, they determined it died and sent me a brand new one that was also very easy to set up and use. Dont you just love companies who stand by their product and do the right thing for their customers. I'm pleased with Epson customer service and the new replacement printer. I will continue to use Epson product because of their customer friendly policies and no hassles.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!! You will be returning it.

This printer should not even be for sell. It has no print quality what so ever. Used up all the ink in printing 2-3 test pages. Test pages had feint lines running all through it. Tech Support at Epson were clueless.

    Installation

    • Written by from Middletown

Just bought EPSON 400 Series Printer from the Apple Store. I am not very techy but i most say that the installation of my EPSON was nice and easy which is exactly the way I like it! I was able to connect it to my wireless system in about 5 minutes and didn't have one glitch. The quality of prints is great! I would highly recommend this Printer/Copier/Scanner to anyone!!! Thank you for making it easy...

    Worst Printer I've owned

    • Written by from Williamsville

This may be the worst printer I've owned. The paper sensor always seems to think it's out of paper when in fact there is paper. Most of time time I have to hand feed it paper because everything prints at an angle. The printer smudges it's own ink. If I can print something right the first time (correct angle, no smudges), it is truly a divine miracle. Other than looking cool under my desk, this printer is pretty much useless.

    Get to Printing

I absolutely love this lil light weight printer-Bravo. I can pick it up and plug it in any room. The regular way of printing, the air print, and scan are great. And the price is very affordable.

why I like my epson printer

    • Written by from Willow Grove

It is new to me and so far I had great support for set up and the machine runs great. I fell on the floor by accident and did not break. I had to recalculate the printing and I was back in business.

Air print doesn't work with Mac iOS 6.1.3!!!

    • Written by from Powell

Air print doesn't work with Mac iOS 6.1.3!!! That's what I mainly wanted when I purchased this. I've read all the reviews, this printer beat out all the others. But no where did I see a complaint about Air Print. I can print wirelessly from computer. I can use my iOS devices to send email to printer, iCloud print works, but epson iPrint app can only find printer if it's turned on. I tried everything!! Air Print doesn't work. Only response I get from Epson is, "Please make sure you see no errors on printers screen" and "Make sure you don't have a memory card in" Like I'm some kind of idiot. Well maybe I am, because I can't get it to work...Even tho I built two gaming PC's and owned a Mac ever since they came out. I can't seem to get something as simple as AIR PRINT to recognize this EPSON XP-400!! Air print searches for printer and then gives the massage "No AirPrint Printers Found" What am I missing here!?

    Not so easy after all

    • Written by from Sterling Heights

After reading many reviews stating how simple to set up and use I was looking forward to buying and using. Two days later after attempting to set up wireless I did manage to print some material. Easy - not so much. Not sure why but for me a bit of a pain.
Two days ago my wife attempted to print from her wireless Mac without success. We reverted to our old HP laptop and used an older wired HP printer.
A few hours later the new Epson XP-400 began printing the copies requested earlier by my wife.
Very strange indeed. We will keep working on it and see if we can figure it out.
The quality of print/copy is good for the price.

    XP-400

    • Written by from BRIGHTON

The printing and scanning have worked fine in the short time I have had it. However, it is a replacement of my original XP-400, which I had to return a few days after purchasing it. On that one, the printer malfunctioned (red-orange bars appeared on the printed images), and I was advised by Epson that it was a hardware problem. Nonetheless, I'm very pleased with the new one so far.

Easy set up for wireless printing

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

I just set up my new Epson XP-400. It went so easily and the instructions were easy to follow. I had purchased a different brand of wireless printing and was not ever able to get the printer to work wirelessly. So far, I am so happy with the set up, size and print quality of the printer.
