    Unstable keyboard

Lovely functional keyboard but found the ipad kept falling off the keyboard (this was from my desk). The area that holds the ipad also became tacky after about 7 months and kept sticking to the ipad screen cover and pulling it off. Quite disappointing for $100!

After using the logitech keyboard for several weeks, I found it to be unstable when using it on my lap. The ipad was too heavy and I was afraid it would tip over. I returned the ultra thin keyboard for another product.

Works great, very handy iPad accessory

I purchased the Logitech Keyboard Cover for iPad with my new iPad from the Apple Store in December, and I love it. It works great - haven't had a single problem. The only thing I wish it featured is some type of non-slip, rubberized pads or feet on the bottom. The iPad-like surface slips easily across your desk when typing, and soon scratches. Aside from that complaint, I love it.

Tis is a poor design. The attachment is similar to the smart cover but the keyboard is heavy. If you drop it, and you will, it will break off the keys and they will not assist in replacing keys.

Nice idea and look - scratched my iPad

I really like the look of the keyboard and it attaches nicely to my iPad. The problem is that it scratched the protective overlay on my iPad. For as good as Logitech products have been, this one is a huge disappointment.

Turns iPad into a legitimate laptop!

I travel extensively for my consulting work and need the internet, word processing and spreadsheet functionality and constant access to email. The ipad does all of that, but with this keyboard I don't need to haul my laptop with me any longer. Pair up this keyboard with an App like CloudOn and I get most things done on the road. The keyboard is amazing. It's sleep, connects quickly/easily and looks VERY sharp. I get compliments every time I use it. Highly recommend. The only drawbacks are easy to over come. You don't have all the shortcuts you have with a laptop keyboard, but with the touchscreen you can be more effective and quicker with your typing and web surfing than without the keyboard.

    Nice Idea, Poor Execution

Dettached keys out of the box and right shift key only partially funcitional.

The magnets are weak and do not hold the cover in place when openning.

The keyboard had a nice tactile quality and typing was easy even for my bigger hands.

This a great idea, but not executed to an appropriate quality level.

    Disables Spell Check

Nice keyboard...smaller than other external kbs, but that's because it fits on iPad...for some strange reason, it somehow disables auto correct, auto capitalization and spell check in iPad's Mail application...disappointing.

Great keyboard but disappointing as a case cover

    The good:
    - The keys are good size and respond well to touch.
    - There are some shortcuts that you can use with this keyboard that are common with regular computers (copy, paste),
    - I like there is a home button (upper left corner) and it works similarly to the iPad's home button.
    - I don't get a delay between entering text and seeing it appear on the screen.
    - Landscape and portrait view capable

    The bad:
    - The magnet isn't strong and like another reviewer, this cover separates too easily from the iPad when you are handling it, so you have to consciously open the cover carefully to avoid dropping it.
    - No protection for the back or corners of your iPad so if you tend to drops it (I've dinged a corner when it wasn't in a full case), this won't protect anything but the screen.
    - The Logitech cover is the same metal as the back of the iPad so easily scratched if you don't have something protecting it, which is hard to find.
    - Every time you want to prop the screen up to type, you have to detach the iPad from the magnetic strip and the entire cover. The first time I did this, it caused the corner of my screen protector to lift up so if you're not careful, your screen cover lifespan will be compromised.
    - I've had it less than 48 hours and the rubber liner that sits in the groove to prop up the iPad is already lifting up; another reader mentioned the liner has a short life span and someone else mentioned scratches on the iPad that result from this groove.
    - Only one angle is available for use.

I'll be trying the folding keyboard next.

it has scrambled my ipad screen

I have had this keyboard for about 4 months and yesterday, when I clipped my iPad 3 into it, it scrambled the screen and continues to do so. its looks like a tube TV on a bad channel. I have to trick the iPad into 'forgetting' the keyboard by cutting the keyboard on and off and cutting the iPad off and waiting. Then clip it in, and take it out again. Why is it doing this??

POSITIVELY THE GREATEST KEYBOARD ADD-ON FOR MY IPAD2 EVER!

I received the Logitech keyboard as a Christmas gift. As soon as I set it up, which couldn't be any easier, and slide my IPad2 into it, turned everything on, and I was hooked for life. This product is absolutely great!

    Thank You, So Very Much!

Very pleased after receiving this keyboard as a gift. Makes typing so much easier for work, emails, etc. Very slim, connectivity is great, and fits seamlessly with my iPad. The only issue I have had is finding a case that fits both the iPad and the keyboard. Other than that, it is probably the best keyboard for the iPad that I have come across yet!

there is a delay between typing and stuff showing up on the screen which is annoying, and the keys are a lot less comfortable than the zagg pro plus, and the keyboard does not have backlighting either. just too rickety to get comfortable with.

    Rubber Strip ripped off

I bought this keyboard and it types well and holds it's charge. But and this is a Big But!!!
3 days after I bought the keyboard the rubber strip that holds it in place and keeps your IPad from getting scratched. Peeled off and all the sticky backing got all over my I Pad screen.
Very poor design. They should have an extra in the package.

I want to like this product, and I'm sure I eventually will, but I am in the process of sending the second unit just received back due to faulty construction. The first one did not charge, and would only work with my iPad when connected to my MacBook Pro. Apple quickly sent a replacement as I was returning the first one, and it arrived today... with the keyboard warped up on the right front corner, separated from the aluminum backing by 2mm. Come on Logitech, can you check these units before you fire them out the door? These returns take time, and are annoying.
I just want to receive the product I expect, that works as advertised and looks just like the ones in the pictures. And I'm not willing to compromise on that, whether the unit works or not.

This thing is not my kind of bag, baby!

I am sad to say that the glimmer I had in my eye upon beholding this product online was extinguished by the stark reality of its form, fit, and function upon my supple hands.

    The bad:
    1. Magnets are weak! I put this on the iPad and while opening and closing it, almost dropped the iPad when the magnet dislodged itself. I about freaked out and almost did a comical juggle to make sure it didn't fall. (In stark contrast--I can hold the Smart Cover between my thumb and forefinger without the iPad ever dislodging from its mighty hold.)

    2. The iPad doesn't fit if it has a back cover. I learned the hard way that the iPad will not sit properly in the groove as I placed it there with the back cover on. After a few seconds of typing, the iPad squirted out of the groove and fell flat on my desk. I REALLY like having a back cover on my iPad and will never take it off as it makes it easier to grip as well.

    3. The aluminum was already getting dirty and can see how much it would scratch with regular use just by sitting on my desk for an hour.

    4. You have to take it off if you plan on using the iPad while sitting or lying down.

    The good:
    1. It LOOKS nice.

In conclusion, just use the Apple Keyboard and buy the Incase Origami keyboard cover/stand if you want to have a better typing experience.

    Great timesaver

Contrary to the pictures in the preview, you can set your iPad up vertically. Judging by the pictures I was worried I'd have to my iPad 4 in landscape mode (horizontal) so it would stay in place. My iPad sits at a perfect angle (especially vertically) when sitting in the logitech's placeholder. The bluetooth was immediately recognized and paired immediately. No having to type in numbers. Just be sure to turn on bluetooth in your settings and charge your keyboard beforehand. It says one charge will last about 6 months if you use the keyboard a few hours a day, so I have no idea if it's true or not. Though not a typical "full size" keyboard, it has arrow keys!!! Why Apple doesn't have arrow keys on it's on-screen keyboard is beyond me. If there is a way to add arrow keys, I haven't figured it out. Why is that important? Try sticking a finger in the exact spot of a paragraph to add a missing apostrophe or delete an extra letter.

This alone, at least to me, makes it worth the price. It's also well-made, sturdy, and makes a great case when you're done using it. As I said before, I have the iPad 4, and while this keyboard like some others does not allow you to charge your iPad, you'll have to look elsewhere. There is no slot for the new dock connector or the old 30-pin one. But what it lacks there, it more than makes up for in speeding up your typing. If you are used to typing 55 words per minutes, you'll be in luck. With Apple's built-in spell checker, you'll never misspell a word again. The keyboard also has function keys, a home button (which behaves just like the iPad's), caps locks, delete key, numbers at the top, and more. Alas, no command+tabbing to switch between open apps (if you're reading this Logitech, please fix that!). All your shortcut keys work just like on a Mac (select all, copy, paste, etc...), and again, it has arrow keys. This is worth every penny and with free shipping from Apple it's cheaper than most stores.

    Scratches

I loved this key board when I first purchased it. However, after about 2 months of use, I've started noticing scratches on the screen of my iPad. There's a rubber strip inside the groove that holds the iPad in place while using the keyboard, this has started slipping out and collects particles and that's what is scratching my screen (primarily). The scratches are in a line right where that groove contacts the screen when used as a cover. I've noticed other scratches too, I just don't think this is adequate for screen protection.

I do love the way the keyboard feels and functions, I would have no problem recommending this product if not for the scratches.

TL;DR- Great keyboard, inadequate screen protection, actually caused scratches.
