iFusion Docking Phone good idea but it falls short !

    • Written by from Greenwood

The phone docking system is a great idea but their customer service stinks and the they fail to make it clear that the recent versions of the I-Phones cannot dock to the phone system without an adapter and when you use an adapter it does cause some glitches...

Also, they are very vague in disclosing this obvious flaw and do not fully disclose this information without a little research — for some reason they do not plan to make a version that docks with the more advanced I-phones so at the very least they should include a suitable pronged adapter with purchase.

This good be a good product idea but it falls short!

Broke one month after warranty was up

    • Written by from alton

Was occasionally flaky, with callers saying they could barely hear me and I would have to unplug the unit and call back in for it to magically work. Then one month after warranty was up, lights constantly flash and the device is useless. Oh wait, I have a $160.00 charger.
Apple, get this off of your website, it is junk!

    Great Build Quality

    • Written by from Fallbrook

This is the best iPhone speakerphone accessory I have yet seen.
First of all... It allows you to use the phone like a landline phone... Which is great in its own wright... But the build quality is superb.
The iFusion is Heavy. As it should be to keep it from skittering around on your desk when you lift the handset. It is stable...
The speakerphone and handset work with transparent ease... And you can use it to either sync your phone via USB connection to your desktop, or keep it unconnected.
If you often use your iPhone at the same desk... Its a great accessory.

Bought 25 of these for office, so far only 1 or 2 bugs. buying 10 more

    • Written by from Edmonton

Great functionality. A bit pricey but I guess you gotta pay for quality sometimes.
Some of my docks have had a few issues with the bluetooth and pairing but a quick power plug pull and re-connect seems to re-boot the units and solve the problem. I recommend only pairing them while in the dock.

    iphone 5 Compatibility

    • Written by from oakville

Opened the package and began to set the unit up only to discover that this unit is not compatible with the 5s nor did it come with an adaptor or information where to find one. Although this is listed on the compatibility section of the product info I think it should be noted more clearly. With the amount of iphone 5's that must be on the market I believe apple could do a much better job in communicating this.

    Poor Quality

    • Written by from san rafael

I bought this last year and within 4 months it was broken. Now I can't use either the handset or speaker phone. The only thing that still works is the charger. I loved the phone at first - when it was working - but expect something to last a lot longer than 4 months.

    Volume constantly changes by itself!

    • Written by from Parkersburg

When working, the device performs great. Excellent sound quality, ease of use, etc.

However, please see the title of my review. The volume constantly changes to the highest or lowest setting by itself. In an attempt to counter this, I will hit the appropriate volume button but this does not work. I have a device with the most recent firmware.

The device can be reset by unplugging the power, and then it will work correctly for approximately 5 minutes before reverting to the same issues as before.

So, in an 8 hour work day, I will need to unplug the device approximately 94 times (let's just call it 100 for arguments sake) throughout the course of the day. I basically have acquired a $150 phone charger at this point. But, then again, it sure is a "snazzy" looking charger.

    Great idea - poor execution

    • Written by from Aliso Viejo

This was exactly what I was looking for because I do lots of conference calls from my home office. Like many of the other reviews the phone volume was a bit flaky at first, but I put up with having to unlug it to reset the volume occassionally.

Now every time I use the dock it quickly switches to lowest volume and the volume down button continuously blinks. It wil reset if you unplug/plug the power on the unit but not practical during the middle of a conference call and the unit quickly goes back to low volume which is an unusable level.

Since there have so many complaints about the same issue you would think that the manfufacturer would figure it out and fix it. I'm reluctant to send it back because in many of the reviews it seemed like the replacement units were worse. I am shocked that Apple would continue to sell something of such poor quality on their site.

Worked great at first but already broken

    • Written by from Denver

Purchased this in March 2013. Absolutely loved it, it was exactly what I wanted. But...it's now November 2013 and it is already broken. With my phone in the dock and using Bluetooth to use the hands free iFusion speaker and mic, the call recipient cannot hear me, although I can hear them. The handset works, but I bought this device specifically for hands free use at my home office desk.

Read and heed the other reviews that warn of this product breaking quickly. Shoddy quality control for sure. I guess I now have a very expensive charging dock...

    Reliability issues and disappointing

    • Written by from Brentwood

I was very excited about the iFusion as a desk top phone for my home office. However, very disappointed with the quality and reliability for a product this expensive. The volume on the speaker phone automatically goes down and has made that function unusable. The buttons are touch sensitive and don't respond well. There's also no on/off control so I've been unplugging it or turning off Bluetooth on my iPhone when not in use. I've tried to live with these caveats but now I'm fed up and think that a product at this price should live up to expectations.

    Great for teleworking

    • Written by from Washington

I telework 1-2 days each week, and I bought this dock for my iPhone 4 so that I could easily participate in conference calls. The dock prevents my phone's battery from draining during 2 hour calls, and it also gives me both a speaker and a "mute" button so that I can simultaneously look at documents, type, and listen to the call. I'm very happy with it, and highly recommend it.

not what it is cracked up to be

    • Written by from Park City

Either I have a lemon or this product is not living up to expectations. When docked, and using speaker phone, the audio fades in and out, Currently (and this is less than one year old) speaker phone does not work at all, and even when I'm using the handset, the audio fades in and out. It worked well for about 1 month. I bought because of other reviews but cannot recommend this to anyone.

Very cool looking; just not great as a speaker phone.

    • Written by from san jose

With much anticipation, I opend the box and saw a really great looking phone dock. Sleek, cool, techy in a slick way. Easy to set up and easy to pair my iphone with bluetooth. Functionally it was intuitive and really looked "smart" on my desk. Then I made a call. Its not that bad as a speaker phone, but honestly, just using my iphone on speaker works better. The sound on my end is good on the iFusion, but to the person I am calling, it just doesnt sound as clear as when I use my iphone on speaker. The handset looks very retro and sleak at the same time. And the handset does work well.....but I never use a handset. I give this product 5 stars for style. And I would probably give it more than 3 stars for funtionality if it worked better as a speaker phone, which is the main reason I purchased it. I was hoping that for $150, the quality of the microphone/speakerphone would have been exceptional, and defintiely better than using the speaker directly on the iphone. Oh well, hopefully the return policy works better than the speaker phone.

    Not reliable

    • Written by from Greensburg

This looked like a good tool for a home office. Worked great for 2 months, great clarity, loved it. Then AltiGen replaced it due to a diagnosed hardware failure. The replacement is unusable, creates too much noise on phone calls. Waiting for a call-back from AltiGen.

    Poor Quality Worse Service

    • Written by from Charlotte

Purchased phone Sept 6. Within a week, all the lights started blinking. Called AltiGen and they said it was a hardware issue to send dock back. Cost me $16.00 to send back. Second unit lasted less then a day and same issues. Called AltGen and they said an apple issue as I didn't buy from them. Apple says go back to AltiGen. I also now have a $160. charger!

    Not Ready Yet...

    • Written by from Carencro

Worked Great! (while it worked). I unpacked & setup my new unit only to discover it had a non functioning speakerphone mic. Altigen sent me a replacement unit which lasted for about 60 days before it quit functioning (LEDs on all buttons stay lit up). Original shipping costs me about $15, returning the defective unit cost me about $30 (with packaging & insurance), so being that it is beyond the refund period of 30 days, I will just cut my losses at this point & accept the fact that I basically have a $195 charger (not sure how long that will work).

Poor quality wouldn't recommend. Broken out of the box

    • Written by from Austin

I received my iFusion today and it was broken. The speaker worked ok, but the mic didn't allow my voice to transmit. It sound like I was in a tin can and the volume was too low to even hear.

Very bad when you consider the price you pay for the unit. I was hoping to have a nice desktop speakerphone for my iPhone since I work from home a lot. But was very disappointed with the level of quality on this one.

When I unpacked it, i was hopeful since it looked like it was good quality and had a sleek design to it. I wish it would have only worked.

Wow! This is the bomb for use in your home office. It actually offers better reception for my cell phone (more bars)! This was so easy to set up, looks very professional, the quality is top notch and it offers everything my offke phone offers.

I would recommend this to anyone.

Excellent Phone Solution for Small Business

    • Written by from Daniel Island

    Positives:
Works flawlessly. You can even start a call on it and if you have to leave the office just pick up your phone out of the cradle and walk out without ever losing it. With the unlimited calling now offered by the cell services there's no reason not to have this.

    Negatives:
Sensitive to lightning. Mine appears to have gotten fried over the weekend despite a robust surge protector.

    Already broken :-(

    • Written by from New Paltz

I purchased this because my company recently implemented a "one device" policy which meant I could no longer have both a home office land line and a company reimbursed cell phone. Since I have an iPhone 4s that is fully funded (in terms of service) by my company, it wasn't much of a decision to stop service on my home land line.
This left me with a need that I had hoped this product would fulfill. While I travel a significant portion of my work time, I definitely have days when I'm at my home office and need the use of my corporate cell service for conference calls. The iFusion worked fine for a couple of weeks - setup was easy and while it worked, it was pretty much problem-free but after a couple of weeks of use (and about a month of ownership), the speakerphone portion decided to stop working - completely. While I could still pick up the handset and speaker to callers, the speakerphone portion did not work at all - I could not hear any caller.
Disappointing to have a failure so soon - concerns me that this device really isn't up for business use (where dependability is an entry requirement). Since I was barely over my 30 days, it's on it's way back as an RMA to the manufacturer. I think I probably would have simply tried to return it but since I've had it for awhile, my only real choice is the RMA path and getting it repaired. We'll see if it holds up any better in "round 2".
