I got this speaker a few years ago and it worked awesome but when it plays it vibrated and one time it vibrated right off my desk and broke.

I have owned this for 6+ months and am still impressed with the product. It usually sits in an unobstructed space and fills my 2000 sq ft with rich sound. For the initial pairing, it's necessary to get within 30 feet or so of the device. After that's done, I can wander around the place with the iTouch in my pocket.

I played with the speakerphone. Cute, but I don't need that feature. The sound really is robust, and the product is solid. The design is intentionally minimalistic. Looks sharp, but I'd rather the buttons were text labeled.

You will certainly be impressed with the volume this thing puts out! (As far as dynamic range is concerned, well, don't get me started on digital.) I seldom use the battery, but other reviewers are impressed.

I let my mother borrow it for a few weeks. She plays classical and jazz, and was impressed. Note, the iPOD Classic does not offer bluetooth, so she needed to use the included 3.5mm cable.

    Expensive but worth it!

I was a bit turned off by the price but I loved the design and tested the sound quality and was pretty impressed. Took it home and fell in love with it. Only wish it had an iOS app that I can use volume control instead of having to do it manually. Other than that I have no complaints

Terrible terrible purchase. Downloaded the update and still aweful. Sound quality is atrocious. The $50 iHome portable speakers were significantly better sound.
    Also, it skipped.

The only upside is it was easy to set up with bluetooth.

    Do not buy.

This is the best Bluetooth speaker I've owned. It's for ppl like me who listen to Dubstep, Rap, Electro,Drum n Bass. This is the best way I can describe this: if you are a fan of Skrillex, Monstercat Media, Foreign Beggars, Deadmau5, Drake, LiL Wayne, Rick Ross, and many others, then this speaker is perfect for you.

Please keep in mind that I really only listen to bass heavy music so I wouldn't really know how it performs softer sounding music.

The Big JAMBOX is bad to the bone!!!! I' m so happy with this that I want to go out and buy another one. Everything I want in a portable speaker system. Very simple to get started, just open the box and plug it in and sync. Great sounds that would filled the whole entire house.

The sound is amazing for the price. It is so easy to sync not to mention the extra downloads for free. Would definitely buy more of this product.

    Much Better Than Expected

I received the Big JAMBOX as a Christmas gift and really had no expectations for it as I was unfamiliar with it. From the time I paired it, I have used it almost daily. It has a full sound that fills a room, the clarity is awesome, and it pairs with everything I have although I primarily pair it with my iPhone through Bluetooth. Even better is that there are other options to use the speaker with devices that don't have Bluetooth capability. I was a little concerned with how much it cost, but after finding out it was on sale for $50 off the original price I now think it was a no brainer. You cannot go wrong, the Big JAMBOX is multiple and versatile in its use.

Speaker has a great full sound. I was really blown away how much volume and full sound came out of such a great little box. With 10 hours of battery life as well, I am a huge fan.

It pairs easily and works great as a speakerphone. I really enjoy the customizability of the voices for the menu.

Software update-able, 10 hours of battery life, AUX and bluetooth in, full sound and high volume without distortion? A definite win in my book.

I purchased the Big JAMBOX after reading reviews between it and the smaller size. I am completely obsessed with my newest "toy" as I call it. The sound is great, plenty loud and quite clear. This is definitely worth the $300 price tag, my one complaint is that I chose white and it does get a little dirty but it easily cleans. I love my JAMBOX!

    Crosses the threshold

Every Friday night for 25 years a group of my ever older friends meet to drink a bit while we play pool, fooseball, and ping pong. Good music from our best playlists is always making it a party.

I fell in love with the small Jambox, but when I brought it over to show it off to my friends on Friday night the volume just didn't cross the threshold of our spirited yelling as we played... Until I brought over the BIG Jambox. Yeah, that''s more like it. I've even been asked to turn it down a few times. That alone is saying something. The sound quality is amazing. Bluetooth versions of ipod dashboard jump back and skip fwd buttons are new on this model. I expected stereo to be from two speakers. Think about it. One band, one singer, one guitarist. Why two speakers to reproduce the sound? This box provides the depth and separation to put the sound back together as good as any stereo pair.

I use it all through the day -next to me when I shave in the morning, at work as an excellent bluetooth speaker phone, and the line-in 3.5mm jack I have rigged to my TV in my bedroom at night. I can mute the TV speaker and control volume by reaching BIG Jambox near my head: line-out audio quality, be it a whisper or a boom. I take it out on the porch when I work on my bike and crank Floyd. I dropped the unit on the concrete floor and it still works like a champ as its built like a tank. What's not to love? Worth every penny and the company is very cool.

Ordered online from the apple store without testing it out first at the apple store here in Calgary... and Wow! Totally surprised by the amount of power this beast has! Amazing bass and though i was not sure what id be getting for $300, this animal is well worth it or more. My general use it for the backyard in the summer but sounds great indoors, great for friends sharing music from their iPhones during a get together. BTW, great online shopping experience as well.

I read tons of reviews on cordless speakers when I finally decided on the JAMBOX. The price was more than I planned to spend, but it's so worth it. I gave it to my husband for our anniversary. He's a musician whose very particular about sound quality. He loves it. It's lightweight, extremely portable and nice to use when watching a movie on an iPad. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

    Picked it over the Soundlink

I was torn between the Bose Soundlink and the Jawbone Big Jambox which was a relative unknown (to me anyway). I must have played with both of them for over a half hour before finally going with the Big Jambox.

I was amazed at how much (good quality) sound this thing puts out given it's size. The Bose may put out a little more bass, but it can't match the clarity of the Jawbone. Listened side by side, there is a noticeable lack of treble and mid range on the Bose, not so with the Jawbone. It has a very balanced overall sound and man can this thing crank it out.

The battery life was also very important to me and in this aspect there is no comparison...the Big Jambox wins hands down here with just about double the advertised battery life of the Bose.

I haven't played with LiveAudio yet, but I have used the speakerphone aspect of this product and as expected (Jawbone was mainly known for headsets until the Jambox series) it performed very well.

Overall both the Soundlink and Big Jambox are great speakers, but the added features and personal sound preference tipped the scale in favor of the Jawbone Big Jambox.

    Great sound - fickle paring

The Big JAMBOX has amazing sound at all sound levels. There is no need to play the device at the maximum level as 3/4 volume will fill any good size room. The battery life is incredible; it takes 2 and half hours to charge and will play all day. The only negatives I have to say about the box are the initial pairing and the speaker phone quality. The initial pairing on the iPhone and MacBook took awhile to set up. I almost thought the box was bad before I got a success pairing. Now the pairing occurs quickly. I have to pair my MacBook and iPhone after power shut downs. The speakerphone quality is fantastic on my end by the far end people complain about the voice quality. I'll will still keep trying as it could have been bad phone connections. Is it worth $300? I would put the value at $250 but for the extra $50 I’m still happy.
Overall, it is a great sounding box! I know you will enjoy it once you get.

I can't say enough about this unit. I use it when I road bike. I have it strapped on my back pack and it sounds great. People can never seem to realize where the sound is coming from at first and when they do they are amazed at the size and the sound. When I'm in the yard it gives me the sound I like so can appreciate my music. Best of all the battery life is outstanding. You need to hear it to really appreciate it....

Impressed with its clarity and how big the sound is. Also it's a breeze to setup, so if you have multiple devices you want to use with it, you can pair those in no time at all.
