    Perfect iPad companion!

I usually carry my iPad 2 and MacBook Air for work throughout the day but in most cases, all I really need is my iPad. The times when I really need to do some serious typing is when I find myself using my Air instead, rather than the virtual keyboard on my iPad. Since I had an Apple BT keyboard already, I had hoped for a good way tp carry it in my bag without damaging the keys and found the Origami Workstation. All I can say is WOW! It holds my iPad at a perfect angle in either portrait or landscape and the bigger surprise is how sturdy it is. Now, I am just carrying my iPad and keyboard most days and even though the Air is tiny and light, eliminating a few unnecessary pounds from my bag is a welcome plus. I can bang out Pages documents all day working this way and it's totally because of the Origami. Probably the best iPad accessory I have ever bought.

    Great case and stand...

I usually pull out the keyboard when I do emails or online research. This case provides the perfect angle and is very sturdy so I can use this in bed or on the couch (does not need to be on a solid surface). I can also keep the protective back and magnetic cover on my iPad when using the keyboard case. Plus, it also provides great protection for the keyboard when transporting.

It works perfectly with my iPad2. Very sturdy and it is a good protection cover for my keyboard. It is not made to transport the iPad in, just for the keyboard.

    Awesome! But.........

This case is an awesome idea. There is nothing else like it out there. The thought behind it was excellent, but the product has some flaws. I have purchased 3 of them now ( I said they were one of a kind) and each one has had the glue that holds the velcro tear away. If they would just find a way to sew the velcro onto the case it would be far superior and I would rate this with 5 stars. In the meantime I will keep buying this case for my bluetooth keyboard every other month.

So, for those of you that are still using the original iPad, and not seeing the point in purchasing a new one, this is a great addition. I am able to carry around my Apple Wireless keyboard with me, without worrying about protection. It does that job just fine, and with the simple style it uses, how could it not?

On to the function. This is a great add on for those of you that use your ipad for typing notes. I like the on screen keyboard, but it isn't always as accurate as I need for my note taking. Also, my biggest complaint is that there is no tab key... The Origami allows me to use my full size keyboard to type notes more effectively in class, or wherever for that matter that I can use a hard suface to set up.

If you have a wireless keyboard and need a better solution, FOR ANY STYLE IPAD, go for this. Also, for the price of this plus the keyboard, you can't really go wrong. Don't waste your money on those chinese made keyboard folio cases that you find all over ebay. My fingers need real keys that feel real and function properly!

I took a little from many reviews here since I agree with many of them. The times when I really need to do some serious typing is when I need a physical rather than virtual keyboard on my iPad. Since I had an Apple BT keyboard already, I had hoped for a good way to carry it in my bag without damaging the keys and found the Origami Workstation. It holds my iPad at a perfect angle in either portrait or landscape and very sturdy. I carry my iPad and keyboard everyday and I can bang out Pages documents, emails or research things online all day working this way and it's totally because of the Origami. Probably the best iPad accessory I have ever bought. It works equally well with or without an iPad case. The cover is very quick to set up, takes up no extra room in my briefcase and protects the keyboard very well. This case provides the perfect angle so I can use this while sitting anywhere in the airport, in bed or on the couch (does not need to be on a solid surface). I can also keep the protective back and magnetic cover on my iPad when using the keyboard.

This is really a great product. I can use it on a desk or just place it on my laptop. It's lightweight, easy to use and really portable. Also really affordable and something that not a lot of people seem to know about. Even the employees in the Apple store weren't familiar with the product when I asked them what they thought about it. Pairs really well with the wireless keyboard and is a great alternative to having to use a stand.

Best Keyboard "Docking Station" for iPad EVER

I'm a Mac tech, so I buy and consult on Apple tech constantly. I probably own 20-30 bags, cases, shells, and covers for all my gear.

I owned the iPad 1 for a couple years, then bought an iPad 3 this year.

Today I happened to see the Incase "Origami Workstation" at an Apple Store. It was only $29.95 and seemed like it might be helpful (I already owned the wireless keyboard that fits in this product).

This is a GREAT product! When you're using it with an iPad, you can position the iPad in landscape OR portrait orientation. Your iPad will fit in the rest no matter how big or bulky a case it's in (pretty much). It DEFINITELY fits if you have a smart cover on the front and an Incipio cover on the back; and I would bet it works fine with the new iPad 3 Apple 1-piece covers.

Close tab came unglued after a handful of uses

I've only had the case for less than two months and used it a handful of times. But one of the velcro tabs to keep the case closed has already come unglued. It's frustrating to have to take the time to return something so soon.

    Great stand and keyboard protection

I never wrote the review before until I used this Origami Workstation. Its design is fantastic; it works with my new iPad 3rd generation very well in both portrait and landscape. The case hold keyboard firmly, and protect it as well. It is very useful if you are a student who use an iPad to take note in class. You can type way faster than vertual keyboard. And the function keys are useful.
If you are looking for the stand and keyboard protection, I would highly recommand this item.
Try it! you will be very satisfied; otherwise, you have 14 days to fully refund.
It is worth 30 bucks.... Trust me.

I bought the Origami case about a year ago and ever since I have used it continuously with the wireless keyboard. I don't have any complaint about this product. It's very portable, protects the keyboard and my iPad 2 fits perfectly both in landscape and portrait orientation with the Smart Cover on and a clear protective shell on the back. Students using their iPads to take notes in class will love it!

Was considering getting one of those fancy all in 1 keyboard cases for my new iPad 4,but couldn't justify the expense as I have an apple wireless keyboard that I wasn't using much. I paired the 2 and they work great. I used the origami workstation on the plane today with my ipad in its case. The viewing angle and stability was fine This keyboard case protects the wireless keyboard nicely as well.I was able to leave my heavy A frame stand at home. This arrangement is cost effective and flexible as you aren't locked in to a keyboard if you don't want.

I was shopping at an Apple store for something else when i saw this product. Wow!! So simple and so effective, truly an Apple-grade product. Hopefully i won't have the problem with the velcro stuff. Before seeing these reviews, it's the first thing that came to my mind when unpacking the product. They don't seem to be made to last for years. I like this so much i might go buy a second one for backup if InCase ever stop making them.

Yes...I read how wonderful it is AND I read that the little velcro thingys have/might come off. This is a great concept and when it worked I was the evny of all iPad users in my apple domain. Did I think I would be the exception? Yes I did! Was i? No I wasn't!!!!! This fix is SOOOOOOOOOO freaking simple-grommets, sew them on, Gorilla Glue, Fabric glue. Incase---FIX THIS PROBLEM and folks don't buy this item until you start reading reviews that say how great it is that they fixed this problem.

I'm obsessed with this case/stand for my iPad - it works awesome on my lap or a table/desk. The wireless apple keyboard is perfectly sized for using with the iPad. I never ever used my iPad because I can't stand typing on it and pecking around at the keys - now I use my iPad all the time and write emails blazingly fast just like being on my regular macbook air. I've spread the word to everyone I know and they are buying them up! This is a million times better than any of the cases out there that have built in keyboards. I also love the sound of the keys - just like the apple macbook air keyboard keys.

I love this product.... as for the velcro tabs...

    • Written by from ANCHORAGE

28 of 31 people found this useful

The velcro tabs are larger than they need to be. If a user is in the habit of very firmly pressing the tabs into place, I can see that disengaging the tabs might eventually cause the velcro to come lose.

This is a very simple, well designed product.

One trick that I think the designers missed: the bottom of the cover is fairly slick. A low profile, non skid foot could have been added in two places on the bottom, protected under the velcro tabs, or close along side them, when the cover is closed; and exposed and useful when cover is opened.

Users should remember to turn the keyboard off when done using the keyboard and closing the cover. Subsequent handling will cause random keys to be depressed (through the somewhat flexible cover) wake the keyboard and cause music to start playing (or some other function) on the iPad.

I love traveling with my iPad, wireless keyboard, and this cover.

... to my iPad 2 and its wireless keyboard. I bought them together so I could travel complete to campus and cafes and to visit my family in Hawai'i and it all worked out better than I imagined. I don't even feel like I'm carrying separate components - I feel like I'm carrying my 10-hr laptop with me. It is a truly perfect fit for the Apple wireless keyboard, and it holds the iPad 2 beautifully and things work in either portrait or landscape mode. Bottom line - invest in Incase Origami products with Apple products as I did and you will find comfort, peace of mind, and I dare say a complete absence of disappointment.

An amazing carrying case for BT Keyboard

Carrying around my BT keyboard with my iPad was problematic, with objects in my bag switching my keyboard on or keys falling out of place. I was looking for a simple case, but this turned out even better. Besides protecting your keyboard, it allows you to place your iPad at a perfect angle for work. Definitely worth it.
