This product is extremely average in its sound quality. The first unit did not work with my MacBook Pro and then the company changed the unit and the second unit works fine. The sound quality is extremely average. I have used Logitech speakers at the same price point before they are far better performing and sound quality in my opinion. Definitely a big disappointment as far as quality of sound goes.

These speakers have crisp clear sounds, support high volumes, and render jazz, classical, and rock music beautifully. Unfortunately, the pair that I got from the Apple Store had a short in the cable, and only intermittently transmitted music after a couple of months. I contacted Palo Alto Audio Designs, and they made it quick and painless to receive new speakers the next day, and return the faulty ones. The new speakers worked wonderfully, and again I enjoyed my music. After about two months, the speakers started transmitting a shrill sound on top of the music, and again, I called, they replaced, speakers worked beautifully, etc. After a month, the speakers started making a cackling sound one afternoon and suddenly died completely.

I love the sounds these speakers are capable of when they work. And the customer service is fantastic. But three? To the same customer? I am asking for my money back and going with a different brand.

The cable from one speaker to the next is WAY too short. These are obviously just for stand alone laptops but I wanted one to sit right of my second monitor and one to the left of my 13" mac and it won't reach. That's pretty pathetic. Should have a cable that could be interchanged with standard audio cables so you could go buy a longer cable as needed.

The sound quality is great and the bass is surprising for a speaker of this size. Would definitely buy again.

Was looking to upgrade from JBL Duet's and these disappoint. Volume was limited, tonal quality indistinct, and boosting the volume in iTunes results in distortions. I find them no better than the built-in speakers on my 24" iMac. If you're interested in quality sound, spend your money on something else; I will be exchanging for a different set.
