I have a non-griffin model, but it's the same connector. The upgraded United Business class 747 entertainment systems take it. I purchased mine on the United flight.

No, this cable is restricted to specific airlines with the system installed. Two that I know of are United Airlines and Singapore Airlines, typically in Business and First Class on International fleets. This WILL NOT work on your portable DVD player.

What do you recommend, watching a Movie on the plane using your MacBook or using the iPod and the airplane's screen? Is iPod low resolution?
I'm trying to figure out if it makes more sense to play movies using my iPod or my MacBook when in business class on a UA 747 flight.
Does playing movies on the iPod limit the video resolution where it is less than on a MacBook? Are airplane screens adequate?- Asked by Scott K from Reston
