Can I use this mic to record using my ipad without needing anything (amp or whatever) else?

Best Answeractually pay no advice to the first answer they have no idea, to use this microphone you will need to buy a microphone pre-amp which has phantom power (48volts) to send to the microphone, as this microphone is a large diaphram condenser microphone which can only record with phantom power and then im sure from the microphone preamp there will be a 1/4 ich out put that can be connected up to an audio interface that works with the ipad, but a microphone pre amp can cost anything from £40 to £1000s, but if you just want a microphone that records straight into a 1/4 inch audio interface that does not require any additional power get an shure SM57 or a Shure SM58 depending on what you are recording, example an SM57 is good for rock vocals guitar percussion, an SM58 is more for live stage vocals as it boosts a little bit more in higher frequencies. but an SM57 is a good all round, its strong and will only cost about £90. hope this helps. Peace

No it isn't a USB mic, but you can certainly connect it via icicle USB converter by Blue to your computer. That's what I am using to connect my Bluebird and the sound is amazing. the deal right now on the Bluebird for $299.00 is unbelievable. Amazing microphone....

AnswerPotentially you could, but it is a condenser mic which is most commonly used for studio recording, and I would much more recommend using a dynamic microphone for live performances.

AnswerThere wouldn't be a reverb or echo button on the actual microphone but once you have a programme such as Garageband or Logic open you can edit the track and put echo and reverb on the track.

Does anyone know if this records in stereo, or mono?
- Asked by Liam L from Allentown

AnswerIt's mono (like almost all analog mics).
To record in stereo, you can use a) two analog mics, b) Blue Microphone's "Yeti" in stereo mode (the Yeti uses a digital USB connection to your computer), or c) Blue Microphone's "Yeti Pro", which does stereo in both digital USB or analog mode (the latter requires two analog connections to your recording equipment/computer, just as would a pair of analog (mono) mics).- Answered by Kenneth D from Ottawa

I bought the Blue Bird Prp studio mic but it didnt come with any way to hook it up to my mac? What do i need to connect to my MacPro?
- Asked by Anita J from Elliston

AnswerYou will need an audio interface. Being that you have a apple product in the MacPro, I would personally say go with the Duet Audio Interface. The Duet will allow you plug in your mic for vocals or guitars if you need to. I used it before and was shocked at how small and effective it is. Further, it delivers crystal clear sound quality and is very simple and easy to use.
