ipad mini to ethernet
Can I attach my iPad mini to an ether net cable. Don't have a lot of access to wi-fi, but yes to ethernet connections. Will this Micro adapter allow me to then plug in my USB ethernet adaptor that I have for my mac and then access internet on mini.

AnswerThe lightning connector does not support an ethernet connection. Besides that, your ethernet adapter most likely is a full sized USB device where this is a micro USB connector. They are not the same.

Lightning to USB adaptor ?????

Answerthis is a bit late, so i'm not sure if you still want to know, but it takes any micro usb cord and allows you to use it with the iphone 5 , ipad mini, or any iDevice that uses the lightning charger. so those chargers for most android phones/products can have this adapter attatched to the end, and now can be used for the iDevices with thr lightning port. hope that helped.

Best AnswerYou can always buy a USB extension cord and connect it to a lightning cable, they are very cheap online! If you go too long not enough power reaches the other side... keep it under 15ft.

can i use this product to transfer a file from my usb that contains a video & audio, documents & want them transfer to my ipad 4th gen
- Asked by Emilia M from Barry
- Nov 9, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYou can transfer that file if two other conditions are also present. 1) You only want to transfer video and pictures. 2) You plug a Powered USB hub in first. A Powered USB hub has a wall adapter to supply power (you get an error message on the iPad from the USB drive drawing too much power if the hub doesn't get power from the wall).
If both of those conditions are met, this will work.- Answered by Josh C from Stansbury Park

When using this with a standard micro USB to USB cable is electrically the same as the lightning to USB cables?
I need to have multiple lightning to USB cables for charge at work and plugging to a car stereo, is this electrically the same when using it with a standard micro USB to USB cable? The car stereo with the standard Apple cable can control and convert the digital audio from it. I have lots of micro USB to USB cables and charger to leave at work and in the car and carrying this is easier or cheaper than buying a bunch of real Apple cables.
Thanks- Asked by Albert C from Huntington

Does the "inverse" product exist - a Lightning female - to micro-USB male connector? This is to charge my Mophie Juice Helium with a Lightning cable.
The Juice Pack Helium takes a microUSB connector as input (for charge only). I'm looking for a connector that would let me reuse my exising Lightning cable that came with the iPhone 5.

Will this fit with a iPhone 5 Lifeproof case?
- Asked by Mark D from Andover

Best AnswerYes, the Apple-branded Lightning to Micro USB Adapter will fit into the charging port of the LifeProof "fre" case for the iPhone 5.
Unlike the LifeProof case for iPhone 4, which had no room what-so-ever for most aftermarket 30-pin connectors, the new iPhone 5 case's charging port slot has quite a bit more room to spare when connecting the Lightning to Micro USB Adapter.- Answered by Tony M from Tempe

Does it do fast charging when i use it with a 12W USB Power Adapter?
So when i use it with a micro-usb cable and the 12W USB Power Adapter (for iPad) to charge my iPhone 5, does it charge as fast as the original lightning cable?

Best AnswerAs far as we publicly know, the iPhone 5 will use a maximum of 5W (5V x 1.0A) to charge. The maximum power for for micro USB by specification is 9W (5V x 1.8A). Even if using the 12W charger (or a 1000W charger), the iPhone will only draw 5W. If you were to use another device that wanted more power (iPad 4th gen - wants up to 12W), you might be limited by the physical USB connector cable as 9W might be the maximum physically possible. If more power was delivered through the micro USB cable, it may heat up, cause a fire, or short circuit unless the cable and pins were intentionally designed to surpass specification.

Can I use this to connect my i pod touch to docking system as my dock does not come with the correct size adapter.
I just purchased the new i pod touch 5 th generation and it does not
fit in the port on my new beatbox dock.
The connection on the new i pod is much much smaller , none of
the dock adapters even come close to allowing me to fit the i pod into
the beatbox.- Asked by Hal B from Jackman
