iPad Camera Connection Kit issues and CF cards
On an IPAD2 we have just tried to use an SD card using the reader that comes in the connection kit. The card did not show up on the IPAD and the images could only be viewed by connecting the camera with this SD card in it.
Some other cards read just fine. Unfortunately I have not recorded the capacity of the cards we tried it with, and unsure if there is a limit to the size of the card the IPAD connection kit can recognize.
Another issue is that we also use CF cards a lot. Not sure if these can be read by the IPAD in any way. Haven't had one on hand to try at least connecting the Canon 5D Mark II to it to see if it would read via the camera.
Any experiences people can share with me on either cases would be great.

Does it need any extra attachments to connect to a projector or computer monitor?
I will have school presentations and would love to hook it up to projectors for that. Also, it does work with all recent projectors, correct?

Best AnswerIt shouldnt, however I have not hooked it up with a VGA adapeter as you show. I do know, from personal use, the IBG Star works with iPod 2-current, iPhone 3-4S, and iPad (although not mentioned on box or info). When I get a chance to play with it a bit more I will update my post. Maybe someone will beat me to the punch, which is great!

Answer
VGA is a legacy port to connect computers and monitors. It stands for Video Graphics Adapter (some call it Video Graphic Array) and you'll also find VGA sometimes used to describe the resolution of the output from the computer: e.g. "SuperVGA. etc."
The connector is a three-row 15-pin DE-15 connector. The 15-pin VGA connector is found on many video cards, computer monitors, and some high definition television sets. On laptop computers or other small devices, a mini-VGA port is sometimes used in place of the full-sized VGA connector.- Answered by James T from Wake Forest

Best AnswerTo connect to a projector with VGA input, (that is why you bought the VGA dongle) you also need a standard VGA cable. The Apple adapter does not connect directly from your iPad or iPhone to the projector.

Best AnswerFirst, it is important to understand that with this adapter you are connecting a 2nd display to your iPad. From this point it is up to the app developer to decide if and what will be displayed on this 2nd display when you launch the app.
At this time, the following apps will use the 2nd display:
- keynote - when you shown a presentation
- video - when you play a video
- Photos - when you run a photo slideshow
- Youtube - when you play a youtube video
In all these cases the 2nd display will show the object when you start playing it.
Other apps can follow and offer their support for a 2nd display using this connector since this is part of the iPhoneOS SDK.
As you can understand there is NO mirroring of the iPad primary display.- Answered by Yossef M from Brookline

AnswerNo unless you use a scan converter to convert VGA to analog signal (RCA connector video and stereo audio), assuming your TV can handle this. Not really worth doing though- low res and usually kind of expensive.
