Best Answer
No. Since there is not a cursor on the iPhone there is nothing that the Trackpad would control. The same applies to the iPad and iPod Touch.

Best Answer-SysPrefs/Bluetooth
-click "Advanaced..." button
-uncheck "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer"
-click "Ok" button
-close SysPrefs
This will allow the Magic Trackpad (and Magic Mouse, Apple Bluetooth keyboard) to go into a deeper power saving mode.
To wake the computer, press the power button once.

Is the Magic Trackpad pressure sensitive?
- Asked by Aaron S from Kansas City
- Jul 27, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerGiven the look of the product, the pictures showing a hand using it, and descriptions of its functionality being basically the same as what the built-in trackpads on the MacBooks currently do, the answer is probably no, it's not pressure-sensitive. It's really just bringing the gesture functionality (scrolling, swiping, etc.) that the MacBooks have made part of the Mac experience to desktop Macs. On the MacBooks, if you push down hard enough, it physically clicks the button so pressure sensitivity isn't really possible.

Will I have to relearn gestures with Lion versus Snow Leopard?
I use a mouse with my MacBook 99% of the time, so I'm not a "gesture pro." If I start using the Magic Trackpad with Snow Leopard, but don't upgrade to Lion for a few months (I like waiting 90 days on new big releases), will I be relearning gestures? Bottom line question is...should I just wait to till I upgrade to Lion to get the Magic Trackpad?
- Asked by Gregory M from Hurricane
- Jul 24, 2011

Best AnswerThe main gesture that changed was scrolling while browsing web pages. If you don't like it you can disable it in system preferences under the trackpad settings.

Months? I use Apple Rechargeables. When I fully charge them and insert them into my Trackpad, it shows as 88% charged, and the "low battery" warning comes on after about 5 days.
(Now the Keyboard does last for months, which is good, because I rarely have to choose which device gets the fresh batteries.)- Answered by Geoffrey A from Palo Alto

Does it function exactly as my MacBook Pro Unibody Trackpad? Also Do I need this if I have Magic Mouse for my iMac?
- Asked by Leonard O from Wilmington
- Jul 27, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerThis will function the same as the trackpad on your Macbook Pro assuming it meets platform requirements (10.6.4). The difference is that it is a much bigger surface.
As to whether you "need" it... Bigger question. Do you "need it"? No. But if you are using the gestures functionality of the magic mouse, you will LOVE this. I had been a diehard trackball user for YEARS. My trusty wireless Logitech trackball died a couple of months ago and, really enjoying gestures on both iPad and iPhone, looked for an equivalent kind of functionality I could add to my iMac to replace it. I found the Wacom Bamboo Touch which is very similar to this. Very cool. I love it. I kept an older and simpler trackball connected in case I didn't want to use the pad all the time and have since removed it as I NEVER use the trackball. EVER. Gestures, especially when I am very busy ROCK.
I will be buying the Magic Trackpad because, while I love the Wacom Bamboo, it has some sensitivity issues (too easy for it to "click" causing unwanted selections). I never have this problem on a Macbook so I hope this will fit my bill... and for $69, it's the same price as a good mouse/trackball/etc from anyone. Regardless of what I use the most (Wacom or Magic Trackpad) I will NEVER go back to a mouse or trackball again.- Answered by Mike R from Rancho Santa Margarita

Does apple trackpad works with google sketchup?
- Asked by Vasco G from Charlotte
- Nov 23, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerActually, that's sort of a lazy answer. If you use the keyboard shortcuts in Sketchup, it works just fine (press o while dragging on the trackpad will orbit, z will zoom (so will using two fingers), etc.). I just got one and after a couple of minutes of adjusting, I find the shortcuts to be just as easy to use as having the 3rd button.
