I do have a OEM version of Logic 9. Can I apply for the upgrade option instead of the full retail version?
Software seems to be complete and it takes the S/N given to me, and it runs perfectly, but any update automatically denies me access with the previous entered S/N.

Can Logic Pro 9 record inputs from multiple interfaces?
For example, Can i use two Tascam US-1641 interfaces simultaniously and have 16 channels of microphone in?

AnswerYes, the Novation Zero SL MK ii will definitely automap both your plug-ins and instruments in Logic 9.
The stock Logic Studio Instruments and FX will instantly be recognized by Automap. You MIGHT want to change which knob controls which function, but that's as easy as clicking learn on the ZERO SL, moving the onscreen parameter then twiddling the knob or slider. That's it. In LATCH LEARN mode, you can learn a dozen controls in about 20 seconds !!
The Novation will also control your 3rd party plugins. The Plug-in Manager software will "wrap" all your 3rd party plugins in Automap form. It takes 2 minutes, then you'll see Automap versions of your plugins in your Logic Insert pulldown menus.
Novation is also Beta testing a 64 bit compatible version of Automap. It KIND OF works, but in 32 bit mode, it's rock solid. I never use my Mackie C4 anymore, this is so much easier, quicker (and cheaper !!!)

my drummer uses cubase, can logic open cubase files or do I need to dig out the audio first?

AnswerNO...Cubase and Logic files are different. Convert them to wav files and you should be able to import and export. Good luck...

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here, but I'll try to answer it. If you are asking how much Logic Studio 9 retails for, the full version costs $499 in the US, the upgraded version costs $199 in the US. I'm wondering if you may have been looking at the different versions Apple sells, educational, etc. The retail version would be the one you would use for personal use, not academic.

How does Logic 7 compare to Logic 9?
I am a current user of Logic 7. I had originally purchased this program for the purposes of film scoring. Prior to having a mac book pro, I used Sonar in Windows. I've had alot of issues with Logic 7 in terms of recording my own material. It randomly deletes lso files~ different tracks are randomly at different volumes... i could go on and on- the biggest drag though is, when I do have a problem, 7 is outdated, and it's difficult to resolve issues. The biggest issue has been saving projects, lso's etc. to an external hard drive- if I move it or save it- it erases the aiff and i have to manually search for it... if it's there at all!!! If anyone has any input I would be very grateful. Christine Hagan

The actual number is 255 but in reality you'll be limited by computer power.

AnswerYes and no. While you can still purchase (at this time) Logic Studio from the Apple Online Store for $499.99, you can also download Logic Pro from the Mac App Store for $199.99. The difference is what is included. Logic Studio is a complete package containing Logic Pro, MainStage, Soundtrack Pro, and others. Logic Pro is simply that one program. MainStage is also available as a separate download from the Mac App Store for $29.99. Both come with the same patches and loops; however, the Logic Studio disc set will come with the extra pieces of software.

Regarding on the subjecting for disc jockeying, I'm a new one in the Djing gig however I would like to know can both Logic Studio and Logic Express work as mixing programs instead of for example Serato or Traktor and how would you connect you system to the programs?
