AnswerNo, you can't. This only works with iOS devices. You can get a USB MIDI interface for your Mac. I know M-Audio makes one but there are many out there.

AnswerIts not possible at this time to play imported MIDI files. They can be captured in the iRig MIDI Recorder app and played back, but in SampleTank, its not possible to import a MIDI file for playback.
It does offer In/Out/Thru, so you could trigger a MIDI pattern from another connected device.- Answered by Joel M from Taylorsville

AnswerNo. The USB port on iRig MIDI is strictly for charging your iOS device while using it. Use the Camera Connection Kit adapter from Apple instead.

will this enable an IPad to be connected to a midi mixer and then enable DJAY for IPad with a controller?
I'm trying to connect my ipad (music source) to a controller/ mixer. And use the controller to incorporate a mic( or mics) and headphones... and also control the DJAY app with the controller and yes I've order the Numark I DJ Live, again... No one seems to be able to ship it because they don't physically have one.. ( I wonder if this this actually exist ) Plus I don't even believe it is going to do what I want it to. We'll see...

AnswerMIDI over USB is achieved with the Apple Camera Connection Kit. Not sure if it's officially supported and it only works for iPad, no iPod or iPhone. You're better off with a real MIDI interface.

Answer
I recently posed this question to Positive Grid, developers of the Jam Up app. They replied that any pedal that supports midi Program Change (PC) commands will work with their app. They also said that they are about to release an update which will add support for midi expression pedals, I'm assuming via midi Command Control (CC) messages. So, yes - the FCB1010 should work great with Jam Up!!
