Is an adapter needed to use a device with a lightning cord?
Do I need to get an adapter for the 30 pin cord to work with a lightning cord? Or do the 30 pin cords that come with the PowerSync tray plug in and out - allowing them to be replaced with the lightning cords?
Also, is there any issue having a mix of items syncing at once - some 30 pin and some lightning cords?

Do I leave the ipads on to put them into the tray or do I turn them off?

AnswerIt doesn't matter whether the devices are powered on or off when connected to the PowerSync, but if the devices are already powered on, it makes sense to leave them that way since the iPads will actually turn themselves back on when connected to a power source anyway.

AnswerThe tray includes 30-pin dock connector cables, but is compatible with iPad mini (or any other iOS device with Lightning) by using the cables that come included with the new iPads. In April, there will be a new version of this tray with Lightning cables pre-installed.

AnswerYes, the tray works with the iPad (4th generation), but requires the addition of Lightning cables since this product ships with 30-pin dock connector cables pre-installed. I would recommend using the Lightning cables included with each iPad.

Answer
You can choose to configure your devices either identically or differently to best suit your needs. This is controlled through the software: either iTunes, or Apple Configurator. iTunes treats each device individually, while Configurator is better suited for mass-configuring groups of devices.

Can the tray be secured to another object?
It's all well and good the tray being lockable but I to secure it to something larger, for example the desk/shelf that it will sit on. Otherwise I can see somebody lifting the whole tray and having all the time in the world to remove the padlock.
