Will this 12W adapter work for the iPhone 4?

The iPad has a new 12W USB Power adapter and the older 10W is no longer available. I used to charge my iPhone with the 10W adapter but it somehow the adapter has conked (it fell down twice). I just want to know if i purchase the 12W adpater, will it work for my iPhone 4?

Does it Charge iPhone 4s, do it required any cable or adapter,does it some sort of Portable charger?

I wanted to know that this USB Power Adapter can be charge using the 30 pin usb cable direct to my iPhone 4s?
Does it have the same ability as power bank?

Will this work as a power bank that i can use as a back up in case the battery of my iphone5 runs out especially if i don't have access to a charger?

Will this be a best option for people who are often travelling and needed extra battery life and can't afford to charge the phone from a wall charger?

Will this adapter work with the 1st generation iPad?

The first gen iPad is not listed in the overview as being a compatible device, which suggests it will not, but why? It's still a 5V USB charger. Why wouldn't it work?
