Two questions about upgrading software...
I currently have Tiger 10.4.11 on my Mac Mini, my father just upgraded his mac's software from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion and I was trying to find out if I can use his software (Snow Leopard) on my Mac since he is no longer using it? Also, can I upgrade straight from Tiger 10.4.11 to Snow Leopard 10.6? Or do I need to purchase the software that goes in between those two operating systems? Thank You

With a MacBook OS vers 10.4.11, how do I know if I have Tiger?
Would like to buy Mac Box as I previously purchased Ilife, to upgrade my Iphoto. Ended up returning as it wasn't compatible. Don't know how to tell if I have "Tiger".Do not like having to return although Apple took care of my problem beautifully.

Will up-grade to 10.6x from 10.4.11 erase the WindowsXP? The Win XP is inoperative. Just make it go away.
The Windows XP that came with Mac pro Intel based 10.4.11 has died. The mouse and everything in it is untouchable on the Windows side only. The Tiger side runs perfectly. I would just like to remove the XP and run a pure Snow Leopard OS machine. Will the simple upgrade to 10.6 do it or do I need to resort to more drastic measures?

Owned a Mac for years: MAC OS X 10.4.11 / 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / Safari 4.1.3. No software updates available. What's best way to upgrade?
If it isn't already apparent, I'm also not very "computer literate". I've been told I need to bring the Mac into a store, but that's really not feasible. I know there have been several software tiers since my "ancient" form of Safari (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and now Lion). Had Firefox at one time, but can't seem to get it again (without updating the computer, which I have been unable to do as of yet).
Oh, don't know if it's important -- but "memory-wise" -- the computer has 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (not that I know what any of that means).
I honestly don't have a clue what to do -- and the fact that I'm considering both an iBook and an iPhone purchase in the near future only confuses me that much more. Any help would be appreciated so I can get the most out of my computer.- Asked by Scot C from Brooklyn

Mac OS X 10.4.11 Upgrading?!
Hi all
My macbook works from a 2.16 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo processor, and I'd like to upgrade to a newer OS as lots of updates don't seem to work as the the system is really old!!
I've read I should buy the full disc set to upgrade to Snow Leopard but I can't seem to find that anywhere? Also, if I upgrade to Snow Leopard can I then upgrade straightaway to Lion via App store?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
