Bang & Olufsen Beosound 8 - how to connect new iPad with it using mini USB?

I know I can directly place my New iPad on the dock. But assuming I wanna watch a movie on my iPad and want it in landscape mode, I'll have to connect it through the mini USB port behind the Beosound 8. What kind of wires do I use? I bought a mini USB- USB open connector, then use the normal iPad-USB charger to hook it to my iPad but it didn't work.
