I run Quicken 2009 on PC XP. Can I convert to Quicken 2007 for Mac and will online banking work?
Use one bank with 5 accounts. Going from PC Quicken 2009 to MAC Quicken 2007 is the question. My purchase of a MAC DEPENDS on this conversion. Will return MAC if problems. Have low tolerance for "It depends" type answers.

I've tried Quicken for Mac with disappointing results, I'm locked in with years of data in Quicken.
I purchased Parallels ($80) and now I can run Windows XP on the Mac. Quicken 2009 works well in that situation, including downloads and online banking. I have some other apps that require Windows, so I can't abandon Windows completely. I'm experimenting with the transfer from Quicken 2009 to iBank, and having both apps on the same platform is a big help.
Don't give up on the Mac just because Intuit has not provided a good version of Quicken.
Cheers,

It all depends on which bank you use and whether they support Direct Connect or only Web downloads. In my case I have 4 credit cards from Amex, Chase, and Bank of America. Amex and Chase support it, but BOA does not. That really puts me in a bind when I also have multiple bank accounts with BOA. So in Quicken 2009 on my PC all 14 accounts update daily and I can see errors same day. Comparing to the same accounts using Q2007 for Mac, only 4 accounts use Direct Connect (real time downloads) and the other 10 have to be manually downloaded and imported (HUGE PAIN). ALSO NOTE... you must follow the quicken conversion instructions on their website. If you follow it step by step, your conversion will be painless. However, their support for issues if really terrible (24 x 7 chat never works), Email responses in 2 business days does not happen, and they say they will 'probably charge you 24.95' for phone call support.
Hope this helps
