Does this work like the screen of an IPAD?

    Yes and no.

    Yes. It works like the screen of an iPad in that it is multitouch and recognizes such gestures.

    However, no. The trackpad will not register spatial changes in your fingers location like it would on an iPad. The trackpad tracks motion but to track motion it requires constant contact. If you lift your finger, the onscreen cursor will wait for your finger to return to the trackpad. Once it does return, it will accept that location as the basis for continued movement much like repositioning a mouse when you run out of room to move the cursor in one direction.

  • Very similar, yes. If you've never used the multi-touch trackpads found on the MacBooks, they essentially have the same capabilities as the iPad. However, the Magic Trackpad is also used as an input device, to move the cursor around on the screen of your Mac.
