Ratings & Reviews

  • Awesome

    5.0 out of 5 stars

This thing is amazing. It's the size of an Ipod and pumps out pristine sound. It syncs up to Logic in a matter of seconds. I im mediately plugged in my guitar and started playing... the sound was amazing. Such a cool little device, and perfect for remote sessions. I used it to replace a Motu 828, and won't look back, I haven't yet tried the built in condenser though, I'm really curious about the quality that produces.

  • Best sounding audio interface I've used yet

    5.0 out of 5 stars

I have owned USB and FireWire audio interfaces from probably a dozen companies and I'd say that the Apogee ONE sounds the best of all. I like the minimalist, very compact design in addition to its fantastic audio quality. Some people may feel that having only one active input at a time might be limiting, but I'd rather have the great quality Apogee digital/analog converters (DAC) than more bells and whistles that I don't need. In my opinion, it would still be a bargain even if it had no inputs and was just a USB DAC. Previously, the least expensive DAC solution from Apogee was the Mini-Me for $900+.

  • The best audio interface for instruments and vocals.

    5.0 out of 5 stars

As soon as I opened the box, the Apogee ONE looked amazing, highly polished finish, great solid feel, and ready to go.

I plugged it in, fired up Logic, plugged in my Gibson Les Paul Custom into the Apogee ONE, and oh my, what pristine excellence came into the headphones.

The clarity of the sound is as if I am finally getting value out of the beautiful craftsmanship of my guitar, that coupled with the effects in Logic, it's like who needs amps or pedals anymore, in fact I decided to sell them all.

But the reality of the matter is that none of this would be possible without the Apogee ONE. It is made for your instrument, I haven't tried the built-in mic because I have a condenser USB mic that works great, but you can see what others have to say about it.

    Final words: Quality/Feel: 10/10, Setup/Ease of Use: 10/10, Audio Quality: 10/10, Portability: 10/10.

There is nothing more you could want whether at home or on the road.

    Thank you Apogee.

  • Could be Superb

    3.0 out of 5 stars

This is a great piece of gear for home recording: its easy to use and set up and the sound quality is excellent. But my complain t is that the jack from the USB device to the Apogee does not seat well in the Apogee end and after several months of use results in static during recordings (and always at the most inopportune of times...) If Apogee could make a more robust seat for the connector this would be a truly superb piece of gear.

  • Great at first

The mic pre's are great sounding but the device has basically failed in only 2 years of occasional use. I have replaced both the u sb and breakout cable, reloaded the maestro software but nothing will stop the unit from constantly cutting out and putting static on any recorded audio

  • Cheap.

Would have been awesome. But it only worked for about 2 months. Then the sound started cutting in and out. I thought it was the ca ble so I bought a new one, but it didn't help. It's plastic. Cheap plastic. Just get the DUET.

Output is stereo via a standard 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack (aka "stereo mini-jack"). This can be co nnected to a pair of headphones or powered speakers. You could use a Y-cable (or similar adapter) to connect two outputs, but the "ONE" will still see it as a single audio output.

The "ONE" supports three audio inputs, but you can use only one at any given time.

    -built-in mic

-external mic via the XLR jack on the breakout cable (the "ONE" includes an excellent pre-amp, and provides phantom power if required by the mic)

-guitar or other instrument or other "line in" audio input via the 1/4" (6.3mm) female Hi-Z TRS jack on the breakout cable

You can choose the audio input both through the Maestro software, and with the silver control knob on the device itself.
