    Awesome

This thing is amazing. It's the size of an Ipod and pumps out pristine sound. It syncs up to Logic in a matter of seconds. I immediately plugged in my guitar and started playing... the sound was amazing. Such a cool little device, and perfect for remote sessions. I used it to replace a Motu 828, and won't look back, I haven't yet tried the built in condenser though, I'm really curious about the quality that produces. More

Best sounding audio interface I've used yet

    • Written by from Bridgeport

I have owned USB and FireWire audio interfaces from probably a dozen companies and I'd say that the Apogee ONE sounds the best of all. I like the minimalist, very compact design in addition to its fantastic audio quality. Some people may feel that having only one active input at a time might be limiting, but I'd rather have the great quality Apogee digital/analog converters (DAC) than more bells and whistles that I don't need. In my opinion, it would still be a bargain even if it had no inputs and was just a USB DAC. Previously, the least expensive DAC solution from Apogee was the Mini-Me for $900+. More

The best audio interface for instruments and vocals.

    • Written by from Montreal

As soon as I opened the box, the Apogee ONE looked amazing, highly polished finish, great solid feel, and ready to go.

I plugged it in, fired up Logic, plugged in my Gibson Les Paul Custom into the Apogee ONE, and oh my, what pristine excellence came into the headphones.

The clarity of the sound is as if I am finally getting value out of the beautiful craftsmanship of my guitar, that coupled with the effects in Logic, it's like who needs amps or pedals anymore, in fact I decided to sell them all.

But the reality of the matter is that none of this would be possible without the Apogee ONE. It is made for your instrument, I haven't tried the built-in mic because I have a condenser USB mic that works great, but you can see what others have to say about it.

    Final words: Quality/Feel: 10/10, Setup/Ease of Use: 10/10, Audio Quality: 10/10, Portability: 10/10.

There is nothing more you could want whether at home or on the road.

    Thank you Apogee.

    Great at first

The mic pre's are great sounding but the device has basically failed in only 2 years of occasional use. I have replaced both the usb and breakout cable, reloaded the maestro software but nothing will stop the unit from constantly cutting out and putting static on any recorded audio More

    Cheap.

    • Written by from Highlands Ranch

Would have been awesome. But it only worked for about 2 months. Then the sound started cutting in and out. I thought it was the cable so I bought a new one, but it didn't help. It's plastic. Cheap plastic. Just get the DUET. More

simple, clean, cute. great internal mic!

    • Written by

I needed the best converters. Analog to digital, as well as digital to analog. This has it. Apogee one is small, bus powered, simple, and built for macbook and logic. Right now I have two old sansui bookshelf speakers (SP-10) hooked up to the output jack on the apogee one. I am using the device to play my digital music, and the one's output amplifier is powerful enough to drive two 8ohm bookshelf speakers. Essentially, these speakers are my monitors because they have a flat response. The point here, though, is that the one's output amp is great, and powerful. Other plus's are, that the input preamp has lots of gain, with little noise floor. Only negatives are that when my laptop's power charger cable is plugged in to the computer, there is some hum. When I unplug the magsafe, there is less hum. When I touch the metal mic connector on the one's breakout cable, there is no hum. This is a ground issue. I can fix it by making a groung wire clip, but it is a circuitry flaw within the utilizing of the grounding on the usb power bus. Also, the usb cable that comes with the One, it's connector, on the device end, which is micro usb, is flimsy. A good cable coupled with a 90 degree micro to standard usb adapter will fix this. Bottom line, for the price, you get the best sounding conversion, with solid compatibility to Mac OS X, a great stereo condenser internal mic, and a simple one input device to record instruments or to power and use any great mic. For the same price, you can get units that have more in's and out's, but they are bigger, more complicated, not as cute, and without a great internal mic. It's a great device, and is perfect next to my black macbook for recording professionally anywhere. Thanks! More
