The Promise 450GB SAS Drive Module is a hot-pluggable hard drive in a special drive carrier module designed for hot-swappable upgrade or replacement. The Promise SAS drive operates at 15,000-rpm and is equipped with 16MB of disk cache.

SAS drives deliver higher sequential performance and outstanding random access performance for the most demanding applications. They also provide best-in-class mean time between failure (MTBF: 1,400,000 hours). SAS drives are ideal for applications requiring the highest performance, fastest random access times, and highest reliability available.

Tiered storage in a single RAID box

The Promise VTrak E-Class drive modules can be mixed inside a single RAID subsystem or in the expansion chassis allowing for flexible tiered storage configurations. 15,000-rpm SAS drives are best utilized for mission-critical applications requiring maximum random read/write performance.

Promise SAS drive module compatibility

These SAS drive modules are qualified for use with Promise VTrak E-Class RAID subsystems and VTrak expansion chassis only.
