Quicken for Mac

I've been using Quicken software on PC's for years. Finally switched to a Mac.
Installed Quicken for Mac 2007 and have found it super easy to use. Before you start have your checkbook and /or bank statement handy. You'll need your routing and account numbers. If you have questions your bank's online services support hotline can lead you through the process.
I like Quicken 2007 for Mac a lot more than the version for PC use.
Oh... did I mention the widget? Quicken gives you an option to add a widget during the software installtion. This feature is great when you want to fill in a few transactions but don't want to open Quicken! …More1734 of 2175 people found this useful

Think Twice!
Written by AM from Bloomfield Hills

To all Mac users who are thinking about purchasing Quicken for mac... ATTENTION --> buy this product with VERY low expectations, especially if you are familar with Quicken for Windows!
I have used Quicken since it's debut. Two years ago I made a change to Apple. I love my Mac but Quicken has been a thorn in my side (as it should be for Apple), since it is the ONLY reason for my discontent with my Mac. For this reason, I'm shocked that Apple hasn't gotten involved and met with the Quicken people to coerce them into improving this product.
Quicken is notorious for releasing products with bugs and especially with the Mac versions, the improvements are a joke. The current version for Mac has half the features of the Windows version and further, Quicken is lax at fixing bugs.

Quicken 2007 for Mac
Very few new features, and much fewer than the windows version.

Quicken 2007 for Mac is not much different than Quicken 2006 for Mac. Intuit tends to make some minor changes to the interface, add a minor feature or two, fix one or two bugs a year, and then charge full price to upgrade to the next version.
The fact that this is not a universal binary shows the amount of time and effort that intuit puts into the mac version of quicken. If you really want the latest greatest Quicken, the one that Intuit spends time and money improving, get paralells or run boot camp and use the windows version.
If you don't believe me, go over to intuit.com and check out the user forums for quicken for mac; you'll be able to make a more informed decision about investing in this software. …More1224 of 1457 people found this useful

The Upgrade Process From Quicken 2004-Quicken 2007
Written by AT from Grantham
Oct 24, 2009
I'm no computer wizard. I'm a senior citizen who came to computers later in life and came to Mac only 6 years ago. I use my Quicken for simple financial work--checks, expense reports, etc. I just did the upgrade from Quicken 2004 to Quicken 2007 in about 10 minutes and everything was there just as it was before the upgrade. Unless I've missed something, this was the easiest upgrade I've ever done. If Quicken 2007 does for me what Quicken 2004 did for me, I'll be ecstatic. And the icing on the cake is that I'll be able to move it to my new iMAC effortlessly. …More

AWEFUL

This is the worst piece of software I have ever used. It took me weeks to migrate and reconcile hundreds of duplicated transactions. I manually reconciled every account.
If that wasn't enough, it would constantly fail to record transactions to the correct accounts and screwed up my balances. Try Moneydance. …More11 of 12 people found this useful

Don't bother with Quicken for Mac
Written by RG from Levittown

Been a Quicken user for PC for almost 4 years now. Recently switched to a Mac to get away from Windows. Stay AWAY from the Mac version. Importing is like being stuck in a 10 mile backup in rush hour traffic, it's 95 degrees, your AC just went down and you have sprung a leak in your radiator. Migrating data from PC to Mac version is a nightmare, some things won't migrate, won't open, aren't recognized - I am now missing 10 hours of my life. In the end, the (1) simple feature I liked on the PC version - on the Calendar view you could see recent transactions, future transaction and the daily balance (no one wants an overdraft), and the Mac version from Intuit does not have it. There is a Calendar, it will show the description of the transaction (double click to see amount), but no daily balance. Intuit is really dragging their heels here. Hoping the Mac 2010 version is better but right now - not holding my breath. …More
