careful
Sadly Apple doesn't see the need to list the requirements for DVD Drives. They state the product is compatible with DVD+R drives which mine is one. LIghtscribe will not recognize the drive and Apple provides no clues as to drivers etc. Very misleading on Apple's part and the lightscribe Website offers no help. What a waste... …

Good brand, careful about compatibility, bad packaging
DVD+R is only available on the most recent Macs. If burning for older Macs get DVD-R 4.7 GB media.
Never buy media on a spindl e. The discs get scratched when transporting from one place to another as they shake up and down against each other. Only buy media prepackaged in jewelcases and do not write on the media's label side, instead use jewelcase inserts, or construct them from stationary or printer paper. This will improve the longevity of the media. …- Written by Abraham B from Silver Spring

Only Works With Lightscribe Burners
If you're expecting your SuperDrive to burn labels onto these DVD+R discs, then you are going to be greatly disappointed. However , if (like me) you have a LightScribe burner, you only need to use the proper software that comes with the burner. I use a LaCie Lightscribe burner, and not only does it work but it works well.
This is a perfect case of "the right tool for the right job." If you're trying to expect a miracle, don't bother getting this product. But if you have a LightScribe-enabled DVD burner, then you have found the right product. …- Written by Cynthia B from Salinas

must have lacie "lightscribe" dvd burner about 119.00 or other brand to use
You have to have a burner that can "etch" with a laser onto these discs. This does not work in any mac I have, so I bought the la cie stand alone. Epson and HP have this as well in their bundle "all-in-one" printer. must make sure it is LIGHTSCRIBE technology.
Hope to see this tech in new models of computers, but happy I have the dual layer as it is...

LightScribe software installation failure on iMac
The disks are fine, but I cannot get the LightScribe software to install properly. Bought the LSS software from LightScribe, downl oaded the file, and tried to install. The installer said that the installation was successful, but I cannot find the installed software on my iMac. Downloaded the simple free version of LightScribe, installed it , and it works fine. Any help would be appreciated. …
