  • Lets me control my iphone through my car electronics

I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and it worked perfectly (to my surprise). My car has a 30 pin cable out and this 30 pin to Lightning fit perfectly and is long enough to the two cables together can connect to the phone while in the cup holder.

My only complaint is the price (thus the 4 star rating). Apple should include one of these with every device as we've all made investments in 30 pin cables over the past 7 years. Starting to lose my patience with Apple over this one.

You buy this adapter because it works with your phone case Andy you carry it with you. White lightning connector cables are $19 and you can get white 30 pin cables for just a few bucks. You use this connector to use the 30 pin cables you have now. If you have to buy 4 lightning cables that's $80 and you still can't use the 30 pin docks without the adapter. This adapter while over priced at $39.99 it is still less than buying all new sync cables. This is a 5 star product but I only gave it 4 stars because of the price and Apple finding another way to make my wallet a little lighter. Apple you should have included one with the device, most of us would have bought at least one more.

Considering that they are changing this I would have thought they'd include one with the phone.

Enough griping, this cable works great and has even made it easier for me to talk on the phone while it is plugged into my car. The cable I had was a little too short to not have a constant tugging from the coiled cord. Now with the extra 20cm I can talk comfortably.

  • 30 pin to hdmi not recognised

    2.0 out of 5 stars

I bought this thinking that it would work with all of my 30 pin connectors. NOT SO! Can charge when I connect it to my iPad 30 I bought this thinking that it would work with all of my 30 pin connectors. NOT SO! Can charge when I connect it to my iPad 30 pin cable but if I connect it to the the Apple 30 pin to hdmi adaptor it does not work. It says "this accessory not supported by this iPhone"

Really disappointing since it's Apple accessories and not 3rd party. I was hoping that I would not have to buy a separate lightning to hdmi adapter but it seems I have to.

  • Works with SONY RDP-M5iP and Mophie juice pack boost

    5.0 out of 5 stars

I switched over from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6. Had a SONY speaker dock and a Mophie battery, both with 30-pin connectors. This adapter I switched over from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6. Had a SONY speaker dock and a Mophie battery, both with 30-pin connectors. This adapter does work with both - to play music on my SONY speaker dock from the iPhone 6, and to use the Mophie to charge the iPhone 6.
I chose this one instead of the adapter without any cable, to prevent torqueing the speaker dock when attaching the iPhone. That seemed to be the issue SONY had with using any adapters with their merchandise.
