Product Information

  • The 45-Watt MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Redesigned specifically for MacBook Air, the adapter is the perfect traveling companion. It has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air with MagSafe Power Port.

I love this little w I've got a MacBook Air 13" (2011) that I feel is the finest travel computer for a businessman ever invented. I love this little workhorse. Also, the power adapter on mine works just fine ... no problems. Instead of unplugging every time I hit the road, I thought it would be a good idea to buy a spare for my computer bag. Wrong!

$79.95? Is this someone's idea of a joke? Eighty bucks for a power adapter? Sure the cell phone manufacturers have run this scam for years, refusing to standardize on a plug configurations/power ratings so that the buyer is forced to buy yet another power adapter (I've got about twenty of them sitting in a drawer). But those pieces of junk are only $20 or $30. $80? For what?

I've got AppleCare, so I'll just keep on plugging in and unplugging the one adapter I have until it dies, then you can replace it for free. Really, you folks at Apple build the coolest stuff on earth, but you do need to re-think your policy of over-charging for the small stuff.

But the power supply is already intermittent. It is under warranty, but they will not pay me for the half-day I will spend going to the Apple store to get something that should last longer than the computer!

  • Very Pleased!

I was very VERY frustrated for the last few months that my charger was bugging out. I thought multiple negative things in regards to Apple. I went online and saw all these negative reviews which made my anger fester. I went to the Apple Store and bought the charger. The employee was friendly and even made sure I had the Air (to make sure I didn't go home with the wrong product) and he assured that I could return it if it was my computer that in fact needed the fixing. I went home, opened the package and plugged it in! everything is running well It was then I realized that my last charger lasted over 2 years and I did not take care of it properly. I lugged it around and tossed it places. It comes with a little cap on the charging port that I now will always put back on so it won't damage when I carry it around.
I am overall very pleased and very glad I did not write a review when I was angry my charger was broken.
    Five Stars!
    Thank you Apple.
