Fell off the roof of my car

Shortly after merging onto the freeway I heard a crash as it bounced along my the roof, and when I looked in my rearview I witnessed my beloved Mac Pro 13" smashing into the shoulder and sliding for about 30' after a 50mph fall. Thankfully it went to the right and not into traffic.
I exited, went around, and pulled over then ran to what I expected to be the carcass of a once beautiful machine. To my complete shock it was still in one piece, showing only minor damage. I got back in the car, held the power button... and it turned on! This case saved it's life. There is no scratching to speak of, the only damage is a dent in the corner of the screen where it landed and a little scratch on the corner of the body. The glass is not cracked, and it runs just fine. I will replace the screen just because the dent annoys me and reminds me of my own stupidity. The case is utterly mangled, so I promptly bought a new one when I got home (I also called and told them my story).
Do not listen to ANYONE that says this product does not provide adequate protection. …

NOT a waste of money
Take those two negative reviews complaining about surface scratches/cosmetic damage to their laptops with a grain of salt because Take those two negative reviews complaining about surface scratches/cosmetic damage to their laptops with a grain of salt because it sounds like they didn't read the simple instructions on the packaging: "Gently clean your MacBook Pro before using the case to remove all dirt/debris or sand from the outside surface of your MacBook Pro" and then "Every month, remove the case from your MacBook Pro to clean under the case. This prevents the build up of unwanted debris between the surface of the MacBook Pro and case that could potentially scratch the MacBook Pro." …

-p This is probably the best hard shell you can buy for your macbook but before you buy consider.....
-snaps on easily,
-protects the the exterior of your precious new macbook from getting scratches,
-comes in black
-makes your laptop more identfiable/unique
-good tactile feel (not as good as brushed aluminum but still good)
-comes in black
-very tight fit
-comes in black.... which is the color you should always bet on
- It can be hard to remove and doing so will likely ruin the snaps which hold it tight to your laptop,
-doesn't protect from dust so you really need to buy a sleeve anyway,
-the plastic acts as an insulator so your macbook won't release as much heat as it would without a case (not too big a deal except during prolonged use)
-doesn't offer any shockproofing functionality, but then again macbooks are like infants in that you just don't drop them..... don't.... seriously. …

The lid portion fits a lot more snug than the bottom. I haven't seen one on the older model but I may return it because its bugging me to have a slight creaking sound when I pick it up with one hand (when open) and I feel it slightly moving/detaching. It might be a good idea to keep it for the long term protection but the slight weight increase is noticeable when the Pros are so light now days. All that said, I can't imagine another brand would be better at this issue, it seems to be a function of this type of cover. …

I took it off for cleaning my mac, and guess what? The plastic buds that hold the case onto the mac snaps, and falls off. All corners! The middle of the case has a huge crack. The case makes the mac super heavy. And when I took it off, there was too much dust, literally stuck to the Mac. And also, this case makes the Mac overheat countlessly whenever I hold it on my lap. It is blisteringly hot to the touch. As soon as I took the case off, my battery performed normally, No more warnings about the battery overheating. Do NOT get this product! …
