disappointed
Bought this product and for the majority of the time i loved it! design looks great and sat nicely beside my macbook air. After so me solid use of transferring movies back a forth from the macbook air to this device, it suddenly stopped working. I met with an apple genius who told me that the software had been over run? He advised me to try and restore the hard drive, and if i was unable to do that to contact G-Drive. I had no such luck on restoring the drive.
Really wish this worked better, hope it doesn't happen to you.

LOVE!
I love this hard drive. I have the 128GB Macbook Air and I store all of my movies on this drive since they don't fit in the Air. I take it with me everywhere, it's much smaller and thinner than it looks in the photos. I've never had any drive issues with it at all- highly recommend it. I wish I had gotten the 1TB, but that was my bad not G-techs at all. …

I've had one of these for over a year - it lives in my backpack, and I've taken it all over the world to backup photos from my DSL R. Not only had it always worked great, but it looks great next to my MacBook Pro …

Don't BUY
don't buy this device. it is highly unreliable. this is the second G-drive slim that i've purchased. i love the design but both of them mysteriously stopped working within a year. i've just come back from 3 months in india and used the device to store all my photos and now i can't access any of them. the drive turns on and spins but take AGES to try complete the simplest task and then doesn't do anything. if anyone has any ideas about how to get the images off the drive i'm be very grateful. …

Can I back up two MacBook airs to this hard drive? Would I have to partition the disk?
- Asked by Jeanette C
- Oct 29, 2012
Answer
Hi!
You ARE able to do this, and the disk does not need to be partitioned. If you backup using the Time Machine utility on Mac OS X, it will create a file which is the back up. In my case, I have my MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac all backed up to the same HDD as it saves each as an individual disk image (.dmg)
hope this helped!
