So far, everything is working great.

The speaker is rather heavy, probably because of the built in battery. We probably won't use the battery much, as we just have it on the charging base (which fits inside a small cut-out under the base). The chrome band around the bottom gives it a nice look as well. The buttons on top seem to be a good quality, they don't feel cheap or fragile.

Setting up the speaker was a breeze. I just connected my iPad and it prompted me to download the small free set-up app. A minute later, I punched in my WiFi password and the speaker connected without a hitch. Streaming iTunes via Airplay was no problem. One bonus was being able to stream Pandora internet radio.

I mostly chose this speaker because the more highly rated alternative was twice the price. The sound seems good to me, I'm no audiophile, but can appreciate good music and good sound. This speaker delivers.

Your router needs to have 802.11g technology, not the faster 802.11n technology. Please check before you buy.

Tried two devices and both suffered the same problem. The speaker is easy enough to set up and sounds great. But if left idle, it eventually drops from the wifi network so hard that it locks up and has to be reset. As noted, tried two different speakers and both suffered the same issue. I fully expect the entire line to suffer the same defect.

So much for affordable AirPlay devices.

Docks with device just fine. But REGARDLESS of how close you are to a wifi source, the Airplay connection cuts out FREQUENTLY. We have a ton of devices in our house on wifi, and they are all flawless. This POC is pretty much useless for the reason it was intended for.

I have a new TimeCapsule a/c and stream iTunes to 3 AP Express base stations one with Bose Companion 3. iW3 setup went ok, had a bit of a hassle with one but it may have been because I'm in a really crowded wifi space. Head bangers, know this - you're not going to blow the walls down with these speakers. Its simple as that. But anyone who wants great sound in a good looking enclosure these speakers deliver. They're larger and heftier than I expected. Sound reproduction is quite balanced, beautiful mid-range with totally acceptable high & low frequencies to please the ear. If you need to tweak it you can do EQ in iTunes. Despite my area having a ton of wifi base stations I have no more problems with the iW3s dropping out than Express base stations... in fact, a few times I've been amazed to observe that when the Express have all dropped out (will Apple ever get that problem solved - its the single most annoying flaw of AirTunes/AirPlay and has followed three Extreme base stations) the iW3s were the only ones playing. "Keep Calm and Play on." ? Anyway, I really like these speakers, so far. And... barring anything stupid happening... plan to buy one for my chick as a gift so she can enjoy Pandora around the house. BTW, they fill a bathroom with great sound when placed in a reflective corner like a mirrored space. I haven't had occasion to determine how long their Li-Ion battery will last while playing, but discovered that when left on "Standby", instead of OFF, they rundown over night. Anyway I'm over the word limit... so will conclude with a suggestion that you try them to see for yourself. Chances are, you may love them.
