Overview

Twelve South's BookArc is a simple, elegant stand that literally turns your portable computer into a mini tower. Slide your MacBook or MacBook Pro into the BookArc and park it at the back of your desk to free up space, or next to your Apple Cinema Display and you'll have a beautiful sight.

Create a Zen-like workspace

With a footprint of just 10 x 4 inches, BookArc takes up a fraction of the space your MacBook Pro uses laying flat. Soft, silicone footpads keep it stable and free your desk from marks or scratches.

Fits MacBook like a glove

Three different sized scratch-free, silicone cushions provide a perfect fit. They gently grip your notebook computer and are super easy to install and remove.

Enhance performance

You can actually boost the performance of your MacBook or MacBook Pro by running it closed in the BookArc. That's because your system automatically dedicates 100% of its video memory to the external display rather than splitting it with the built-in display. You’ll see a noticeable speed increase when working in many graphics-intensive applications.

Features

  • Get a cleaner, less-cluttered workspace
  • Three silicone inserts for a perfect fit
  • Compatible with all MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models

Did you notice?

A choice of silicone inserts gives you a snug, secure fit for any size MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.

Apple Recommends for...

    Cooling

One thing to be aware of is that the Unibody MBPs vent heat from the hinge. Bearing that in mind, it's a good idea to put your notebook in hinge-up so the heat rises. In this configuration, there will be no problems with overheating. This is different than the old plastic MacBooks, which tended to overheat when run in clamshell mode since the keyboard was part of the vent system. More

    Nice but not perfect

I purchased this for my MacBook Pro 15" Unibody. It is a solid piece of metal and stays put on my desk. Also, its very easy to slip the computer into place with my monitor and speakers connected. It is also easy to remove the computer to use on the move. I would think the lap should fit a bit more snugly as it seems to tilt to one side just a bit but nothing that would make me return it. Very professional look to it. More

    Not So Great!

    Written by KM from PAPILLION

I bought this stand on an impulse buy as I wanted to use my 15” Macbook Pro I bought in June 2009 in clamshell mode. I am somewhat disappointed with it. It doesn’t fit as snugly as I though it would. There is probably 10 degrees of play on either side if it is bumped. I would return it if I could and look for a better product. More

short of floating in mid air --- really good solution...

this did the trick for me. i would highly discourage the manufacturer from making a "perfect" non slanting fit. first - if placed in the stand properly, against one side, the MacBook Pro 13 does and will stay at a perfect 90 degree angle, if that is important. with a "perfect fit" the stand would come off the table every time the MacBook is lifted. then you would have to pry the computer out of the stand. let's just say the MacBook is used daily. mine is. if the macbook is used primarily as storage... well there are far less expensive solutions to storage and they usually do come with a "perfect fit" stand. Beautiful and Perfect Once Slightly Modified

    Written by ST from Toronto

    Dec 7, 2009

The Bookarc is an amazing stand. Amazing build quality, great aesthetics and the box is brilliant. My complaint is similar to others I read. The Macbook unibody is a bit too small for the rubber insert. It's annoying. It's also easy to fix. Take something thin. I used a straightened paper clip. Shove it inside the rubber gasket in the middle. One side was sufficient for me. Presto. It now fits as amazing as it looks. I highly recommend it. Hopefully they will work on the fit in the next iteration because this is definitely the best stand I've ever seen. More

    Kind of works...

It holds my MacBook like it says but it is a little loose. I tried the other inserts and one was even bigger and the other was way to small. If you look in the pictures they give you on this website you can see the MacBook tilting to one side. :-(
Happy I bought it but don't know if it was worth the $50...
