    Excellent compatibility

I use Office at work and was easily able to port my files back and forth without any issues. Oddly enough though, I actually find Office easily to use on the Mac than Windows. Font issues that I had with Word in Windows are not present with the Mac Version. This is a good product and is not slapped together. For home use, also consider the home edition, which costs less. Buyer beware

Powerpoint is far more difficult to use than Apple Keynote - typing a presentation takes three times longer.
Worse... is Excel. No VBA and the charts show the wrong values. Just google Excel 2008 problems or visit Excel 2008 on Mactopia, page after page after page of problems. I hate it , hate it , hate it. When it comes to showing incorrect numbers in Excel, that is unforgivable in my book More

Excel is slow with large datasets

    Written by AA from Pasadena

    Oct 23, 2009

I don't know what the issue is... but when you give Excel 2008 a large data set, it slows to a crawl when making a graph. Even my copy of Excel X, which is ~7 yrs old already is lightning fast compared to Excel 2008.

I consider this to be a bug.

*** Read before purchasing *** The ultimate in dysfunctional software

    Written by DM from PORTLAND

At every turn this software presented problems trying to bring data into it from the schedule, to the email, and even contacts.

If you've ever experienced a horror in working with a Microsoft product, this one will live up to every one of your lowest expectations.

If you really have to experience this rotten software for yourself, then download the trial version and you can start the horrible experience for yourself.

Why include functionality in a product if you cannot use it in real life?!? I cannot believe how this was actually tested and released for public consumption. As you can see, I'm very frustrated with Office 2008, something that I need a lot for my work. More

Entourage should act as a substitute for your outlook. However, if you have Snow Leopard it fully supports MS Exchange built right into Mail, Address Book, and iCal. Simply by entering your email address and password through the 'add account' section in Mail Preferences, you will have access to all of your email, folders, contacts, calendars, and task just moments from logging in.
