Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone
If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers, or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows, and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow, or video. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.
The Apple Remote requires the iPod Universal Dock and any iPod with a dock connector or any iPhone.
Apple Remote with Mac
The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos, and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It works with Front Row — a menu-based, full-screen interface — to make accessing the digital content on your Mac as simple as navigating your iPod. When you press the Menu button, your desktop fades and the sleek Front Row interface takes its place to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Movies folder, and your DVDs. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a movie trailer.
Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver.

I was disapointed when i bought this wonderful remote and tried to put it on the side of my iMac like i did for my old ine. Apple Remote
Beautiful
Written by CR from Phoenix

I bought this remote today and I absolutely love it! the plastic case it was in was slim, but once out of the packaging this thing feels just awesome in your hand. function may take some getting used to, I find myself accidentally pushing the center button while using the arrow wheel, it seems rather unnecessary since there's now a button with the same function to the right of the menu. even with that I would absolutely recommend this remote over the ugly white plastic remote that came with the apple tv or your mac. …More

Remote works great as advertised. A MAJOR suggestion for improvement would be to add an integrated laser pointer. That is all this product is missing. …More

Apple Remote
Hard to press buttons.
Written by MD from Miami
Dec 17, 2009
The remote is beautiful in every respect except usage. Pressing buttons is hard because of the lack of tactile differentiation. The main issue is with the directional buttons vs the center button. If one is not looking it's easy to confuse them and press the wrong button. So you might find yourself having to look at the remote to see where you are pressing.
That's unacceptable. There is no reason Apple can't make a remote that's tactile enough to easily differentiate among keys and easily press without looking. Actually they did, the old Apple remote works perfectly in this regard. …More12 of 24 people found this useful
