    Great idea, needs some improvements

    Written by AM from Lowville

I love the idea of a bluetooth headset that snaps right into the iPhone's case. One less thing to cary around in my pocket the better. However, there are a few minor issues which leave me wondering if I am going to keep this headset or send it back.

First the good. Aside from the obvious ability to fit right into its iPhone protective case, the call quality is good. I generally don't have much problem hearing people and I have not had anyone report any problems hearing me. Volume is good, and calls sound as natural as can be expected with about any bluetooth.

The problems I am having with the headset are several. Most annoying is that none of the ear gels seem to fit my ear. The thing is constantly falling out and I am continually playing with it to be sure it does not end up on the floor in the middle of a call. I have been playing with the thing and I just can't seem to get it to a place where it feels comfortable and secure.

The other issue, which is more of an annoyance, is that it apparently does not have a standby mode. When the headset is in the case, it remains on and calls are automatically routed there. That means I either need to switch them to the iPhone, or pop the headset out and answer the call that way. The first isn't too bad, but the second option has resulted in missing calls as the thing isn't too easy to pop out of the case.

Finally, when you plug in the case to charge the headset, it shuts the bluetooth off completely. That means when I want to make or answer a call, I need to pop it out of the case, fit it in my ear, and hold down the on button for 4-5 seconds and wait for the device to power on. A total of 10-15 seconds. I know, not too long, but still annoying. It would be better if the headset went into standby mode when docked in the case instead of remaining on if it is not being charged, or shutting down completely when being charged.

    Great fit with one failure

Written by RD from Ellicott City

The whole thing is great, it charges via USB and is compact but does not work with voice activation. I have the 3GS.
    Background:
I am familiar with various Bluetooth models - Motorola, Jawbone(voice activation) Jabra. And others.
Something is missing with this one.

Also the box says that a screen protector film is inside and one is not. Online this statement is not made.

Be careful and prepared for the possible trip back.

Brilliant - Bluetooth Headset and iPhone in One - Love It!

    Written by DG from Brookline

Finally someone figured out how to build a bluetooth headset the right way. The headset snaps into a protective case that in turn snaps on the back of the iPhone. Brilliant!

The headset works as well as any other headset I've used before, except that it's almost always charged because it charges in the case.

    somewhat disappointed

    Written by NF from GORHAM

    Dec 9, 2009

I was hopeful that this headset would be a good solution for me. I've avoided many bluetooth headsets in the past due to poor sound quality, but also because they're easy to lose. My first thought when I saw the Mogo was that losing the earpiece would be no issue - but I was wrong. But let me start with the good before the bad.
    1. Sound quality on MY end is definitely the best I've ever heard.
    2. Out of the box functionality is great. Good instructions, simple to use.
    3. Great fit, for me anyway. And with 6 different sized ear pieces, I'm sure it would fit most users.
    4. One button means nothing to confuse! If you can memorize the different functions, you're good to go.
    5. Paired with the iPhone no problem.
    6. Pretty easy to remove from it's hiding spot in the case.

    OK, now for my complaints.
    1. After only a few days of use, the earpiece is falling out of the case. I thought I had lost the piece on 3 different occasions, but found it in my bag or on the floor. It snaps in okay, albeit not tightly, but is obviously loose enough to come out on it's own.
    2. The case makes the iPhone a little bit thicker, enough that it no longer fits in any of my accessories. I'm not interested in replacing all the other things that are working so well.
    3. Slippery case! Nice looking, very sleek, but OH SO slippery. I'm coming from the Incipio hard case and rubber 'shell', so I've always had a great handle on my phone. But this case makes it prone to droppage. And incidentally, when you drop it, the case falls off the phone. I had never dropped my phone in a year until I bought this case. I'm not happy that I've now dropped it 3 times! It needs something on the sides of the hard case for friction.
    4. While the iPhone always recognizes that the Mogo is there...it rarely defaults to the headset when you initiate a call from the phone. I don't have voice dial, so I don't initiate my calls from the headset. If I dial from the phone, I have to go into audio preferences to select Mogo Talk every time and often the line is already answered before I realize it and the person I'm calling is inconvenienced.. When a call comes in, the Mogo is inconsistent. If you answer by pushing the button on the headset, it will go to the headset. If you answer from the phone, sometimes the headset picks up, sometimes it doesn't. If you aren't ready to put your phone up to your ear, which I never am in my car, your phone call gets off to a bad start.
    5. The Mogo turns off when you completely shut down your phone (power off). However, it doesn't power 'up' when you turn the phone back on. This has led to some awkward calls as well. Shortly after I power up my phone, the first call I take won't go to the Mogo....if I haven't physically turned it on first. So it goes to the phone until you power on the Mogo. If you try to power on the Mogo while you're taking your call on the phone itself, you can inadvertently disconnect your call pretty easily, as the power button on the mogo is also the 'call send/end' button.
    6. I've been told by more than one person that I sound like I'm underwater when using the headset in the car.
    7. Finally, it takes 6-7 seconds to power on the Mogo, not 4 seconds per the instructions.

I'll be returning mine but hope the next generation has some improvements as this headset has some promising features!

    Nice but gets dirty easily

    Written by JD from Muncie

I am the one who can't find my keys every morning. I had 3 bluetooth headsets and got all of them lost somewhere in my surroundings. This is a great idea to solve my problem.
However, I usually toss my phone inside my purse. And this ear piece attracts all kinds of dust / junk whatever from the bottom of my purse. To solve this problem, I use my Paul Frank Case on top of this to keep the ear piece clean. I get to keep the look of my Monkey and keep dust from sticking to the ear piece. Fantastic!
