Overview

Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone

If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers, or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows, and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow, or video. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.

The Apple Remote requires the iPod Universal Dock and any iPod with a dock connector or any iPhone.

Apple Remote with Mac

The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos, and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It works with Front Row — a menu-based, full-screen interface — to make accessing the digital content on your Mac as simple as navigating your iPod. When you press the Menu button, your desktop fades and the sleek Front Row interface takes its place to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Movies folder, and your DVDs. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a movie trailer.

Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver.

Apple, this is AWESOME. The first remote was a TOTAL fail compared to this. This thing is the toughest, smallest piece of machinery THAT works. :P More

I was disapointed when i bought this wonderful remote and tried to put it on the side of my iMac like i did for my old ine. Wrong first of all the back surface is not flat its curvedd for design which doesnt have enough surface area to stick to the side of the imac.Later I tried sticking a stronger extrenal magnet to it and fould out its not magnetic at all. I thought it was magnetic.Overall it's a great remote and i like the ipod click wheel volume control too! More

Great product!! Fits nicely in your hand. It has a quality feel to it. Worked with my MacBook and Apple TV without a problem. Jonathan did another great job designing this masterpiece. Can't wait to get my iMac! Keep up the great work! More

    form over function?

Everyone knows that Apple make great products. This remote control looks like it should be another one. It feels great in your hand, has a nice weight and matches the new macbook perfectly, which is nice. I ordered my one from this website and when it arrived (the first working day after purchase) it worked perfectly. It was really easy to link up to my laptop and it started working straight away! The only problem is that it stopped working again almost as fast. I've had it for about 10 hours now and it barely works... It feels like it might be out of battery. You only get anything at all from it if you hold it 6 inches from the computer and even then, you get a response from every 12th jam on the button or so. The only thing that stopped me from smashing it was the thought that if it should then somehow miraculously start working again it would be damaged and the fact that ending with the words, "... then I smashed it." might hurt my story when it comes to getting a free shiny new one. I'm really just venting frustration here and i'm sure this is a one off (otherwise this page would be full of angry reviews) so I wouldn't go on this when deciding whether to buy or not. In the short time it was functioning properly, it was good! It works with iTunes and "Front Row" as well as "Keynote" presentations so its perfect. The buttons are a little on the small side. I don't have ridiculous hands and I feel like i'm pressing two buttons at once sometimes but its a good product and i'm sure it's handy when it works.

It uses an IR (Infrared) signal to transmit information. You need a IR Receiver on your computer, or universal dock to use this remote. More
